Cool you fixed the brake issue.

I came across a problem that someone had with a Lumina once. The electrical contacts in the brake light switch failed and shorted out. It melted some of the metal and plastic in the switch assembly. The plastic was actually charred. Something like that could have easily set the whole car on fire.

Crazy things happen with cars. Some of them seem so unbelievable, along the lines of the failures that the Coyote encounters in those old Road Runner cartoons. :)

Ive fixed tons of fords headlights....the older pickups 87-94 style and the tempo/topaz line had major issues with melted connectors at the dash switch

your brake switch story reminded me of that problem...theres hardly anymore of those on the road now

I drive with night vision goggles at night cause I'm trying to save the whales by not wasting energy powering my lights. If everyone wasn't so stupid and did it too we wouldn't be at war with Iraq, and we wouldn't have to endure the humiliation of having a black president

I was on a very crooked road one night after turning off highway 5 headed to the Oregon coast. My regulator decided to quit so I was driving on battery only. I had already driven 550 miles or so and since it was a real bright full moon and 2:00 in the morning,I decided to go for it. About 3 cars came toward me during the drive and I switched my lights on 'till they passed and turned them back off again when they did. I finally got to Newport,Ore and kept on going for another 35 miles or so. Cost me an alternator but I made it. I had regulator problems a couple more times until I put a GM one wire alternator on. Took balls to try this, but I guess I gottem'.
