I did not express myself correctly. This is exactly what I meant. You don’t have to dig a hole to bury an object in dirt.

They used the KISS principle, Keep It Simple Stupid. Dig a hole just slightly bigger than the stone with one side sloping outward. Tip the stone in and pull and push it upright. Repeat for the other uprights. Take the dirt from all the holes a build a ramp that is no steeper than the hills they had to drag or push the stones up to get them there. Once at the top, push or pull the stones into place. Repeat as needed.

I originally posted that I believed that Stonehenge was constructed by a ramp and dragged by pulleys and levers. Recent theories that the blue stones and the other stones were put into place at significantly different times. This puts the ramp theory into suspicion. Is it possible that a wooden frame work one log at a time using pulleys, levers and man power, slowly raising the frame until one stone reaches the desired height? It is then slid onto the standing stones until firmly in place. The frame is then disassembled and reset at next juncture.

Its definitely had to have help with a newer technology. No way people could do that by hand. We can barely do it with modern day equipment
