How deeply do you believe your sign?

I feel you left this incomplete.

 

Since I don't follow Sun signs, I don't believe in that at all. My rising sign is Sagittarius which is more accurate.

 

But isn't the risng the side the world sees in you?

 

Not in traditional astrology - modern yes.

If you read some of the old interps, people really didn't ask about their "inner feelings". That wasn't the job of the astrologer to tell you what you felt. Thei job was to tell you what was going to happen to you.

 

But "inner feelings" is not what people see, rather they see only the mask you put to the world. This mask is the rising sign; and I belive that, because I appear to the everyone as a Libra (outgoing, helpful, radical) and the aproach me as that, yet I'm an introverted and conservative in many ways Cap, yet that Libra side balances me perfectly.

 

Again that's a moden interp. Traditionally the 1st house represents the person. Everything in that house, or relating to it, tells me almost everything I need to know about the person.

I think one of the disconnects is that in modern there is a 1 to 1 relationship of planet + sign + house = XYZ. Traditional astrology doesn't do that. Sometimes you look at things that have nothing to do with the house in question. It depends on what you need to look for.

From one person's chart, I can find out about them, each of their parents, their siblings, their spouse(s), their spouse's siblings and parents, their sibling's spouses, and so on.

 

Please send a Pm with all you think I need to study and link sources, but mostly more about the differences of the modern and the traditional, I have always felt astrology lacks not only facts but coherence and I have been trying to compile my own book on that, so far I have discovered that people do not notice that each day afects us as it would afrect a baby born that day.....obvious, yet not taught anywhere.

But I want to say publicly that many assumptions of astrology is based on a horrible lack of scholarship in the mainstream astrological community. There are some notable exceptions like Robert Hand, who I think is wonderful, but it's worth noting that even Robert Hand who is one of the greats of modern astrology has almost gone full force into traditional astrology. He even helped start an organization that is trying to reconstruct earlier classical Greek astrology.

 

The gold is usually in the golden ages, but with time all things decay and in the area such as astrology it gets watered down for the anxious masses.

yes this is very interesting. So how could the astrology chart that was done on us be so accurate? Maybe the person knew the importance of the first house?
