I froze my ass off today! I was about 30-35 feet in the air working. I knew it was supposed to be -30 wind chill this morning. My phone said the actual temp was -2. Purple fingers and an icy face. Livin' the dream. This nice hot cup of coffee is so good right now.
I'm pretty used to it. This is my 20th winter in a row working outside. Leaving the truck running helps but it's still cold enough to see your breath in there. My wife texted me to remind me that there were hand warmers in my lunch box. But I already had them in my gloves and still had purple fingers. But that's just a stage...then they get very painful and eventually get very warm again. Then you're normally fine for the rest of the day. You just have to get through that first shock to your system. But in all fairness...everyone is out there because they chose to be and nobody is there for free so we deal with it. The flipside is that we get to enjoy all the great weather throughout the rest of the year when many others are cooped up in offices, etc.
Well, good job for surviving and doing it for so many years and pushing it to the limit. I am sure your family thanks you for it.
It was warm enough the other day, that a young woman came thru my workplace wearing very little - just a pair of skimpy shorts & a bikini top.
