But he's green. Compared to the people around him, same diff.
And this all largely depends on which version of Jesus we are talking about.

Yes, the Bible can make the inexperienced one wise.
Yes but I'm not sure of the atoms and subatomic particles but maybe so.
The Bible does not say anything about the sexual acts that a husband and a wife can perform and so no conclusion can be drawn about what God hates in this matter.
If God did not want his presence known he would not have written the Bible.
We're back to this are we. How many times have I answered this already? At least come up with some new questions.
Jesus is real and Goku is not, which in of its self makes this whole thing a moot point. Jesus is the second most powerful being in the universe, Goku is a cartoon character. Jesus is king of kings and lord of lords and will conquer all the nations of the earth, Goku is a cartoon character. Jesus has at his command myriads of myriads of angels, Goku is a cartoon character.
I could go on but I think you get the picture.

Or sometimes stupid, depending on how (s)he reads it.

Second most powerful? Who is the first most powerful? Do you think the persons in the Trinity are a hierarchy in terms of their power? Can you cite chapter and verse for that?
So your literalism brings you to the conclusion that Jesus is coming back as a military conquerer. And you wonder why anybody has a problem with this stuff?

Well, I must admit it doesn't seem to have helped you. ;)
The Trinity is a pagan religious idea and is not taught in the Bible. Jesus is God's son not God.
    Yes I can.
As for Jesus being a military conqueror, that's what the Bible says.
Actually, I know why most people have problems with what the Bible says, they would rather believe pagan doctrines and worldly philosophies, than the Bible. ;)

Fascinating. Arianism. Certainly most Christians who read that same Bible came to a different conclusion, but of course yours is the right interpretation, it's plain to see.

Considering the bloodthirsty nature of the Bible according to OWB, I can see why. One of my concerns about Bible worship is that it desensitizes people to ignorance, cruelty and atrocities, and leads to brutality. In the Christian Sanctuary, we've seen this mentality put to work in defense of genocide, slavery, sexism, and homophobia, and in opposition to science, philosophy, and blood transfusions--and now we have Jesus as a warlord. This is the Messiah some Jews expected, but not the one they got. Yes I have a problem with that. But my problem is not with the Bible. It's with misuse of the Bible. Further argument with you is futile, since you reflexively dismiss any ideas outside your narrow world as false.

Jesus burned the bridge on everything you mentioned, Okiefreak.

Everything that you cited is over and done with and will never occur or need to occur again.

You mean no more religious violence, genocide, slavery, sexism, homophobia, anti-intellectualism, etc.? Hope you're right. You might spread the word among fundamentalist Christians.

They did not come to that conclusion from reading the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible is the word trinity even used. Jesus never made the statement I'm God but many times said he was the son of God. And the Bible never asks you to believe Jesus is God but it does ask you to believe that Jesus is God's son.

And I'm glad to hear you are finally coming around to see my interpretation is the right one.
And I suppose that you believe that Armageddon is the Great Clam Bake of God and that almost anyone who has worshiped a god in anyway or any form or even thought about worshiping god, except for possibly me, will be invited and there will be free Bubble Up and rainbow stew and everyone will live happily ever after. Yeah right.

So why did any of it "need" to occur at all?

My belief in the lack of free will and that all of our actions/thoughts are just a product of environment and upbringing has nothing to do with "destiny".
At any rate, what does my belief have anything to do with def zeppelin's apparent belief that, although these things don't need to occur NOW, conveniently enough, they needed to occur sometime in the past?
