The Santa Fe shooter wore a black trench coat and black boots everyday. Let's ban those, too.

How does a kid make a bomb and no one knows what he's doing? I just think that there's so many parents who either don't give a fuck, or don't know what their kids are doing. It just seems like there's so much lonely time on these kids' hands to organize these plans, and it just seems like that where some of the problem is. It's sad, for everyone.

The trench coat should not have been worn in school especially in this era of school shootings. Backpacks should also be banned. I taught in public junior and senior highs for over 34 years and I have always thought that school uniforms were the way to go.

Backpacks should be clear, as should purses.

Because there is no scientific link between simulated violence and actual violence. If that were the case there would be dozens of these each day. Most people understand they would never want to hurt someone. Blaming video games is something people do when they love guns enough to be blind.

    Uh - No.

I honestly do not believe that violent play should be undertaken at an age when your mind and character are still impressionable.

I'm really looking forward to Post Scriptum though, the new ww2 simulation based first person shooter.

Back in my day we school uniforms. You come dressed in a Denver Broncos jacket you got sent away from school for the day. I wore that jacket a lot. :p

Pot calling the kettle black. It isn't as "simple" as banning an AR. As this shooting proves. And you can't "simply" say ban shotguns.

You simply can't just blame it on guns.

It is more complex than that. These kids are going off a mental cliff here. THAT is the problem.

That's what I said. Banning AR style weapons only removes one very lethal means of killing people. It doesn't solve the problem, but it makes it a little harder for people to kill other people.

Maybe, maybe not. This kid lost his nerve but had made and planned to use bombs. Had he followed through, we'd be talking about banning pressure cookers or whatever he chose. I think he was trying to set a new record for death count. No AR required.

I think we need to look at video games, music etc. Guns have been around and accesible for ages. It's only the last couple of decades this chyt has started. Violent music and video games came about, in about the same time.

There is an undeniable link between access to guns and the use of guns. That’s the only statistically significant variable unique to the US. I’m not sure this one incident establishes the same link between trench coats and violence.

If that's the case then why is our violent crime rate is going down but gun sales are rising?
