heres a few pics of bonzo bears mess making adventure.. the paw print is hard to make out but it is there The foot print was from when he had left the back porch after me screaming in his face,,, the bunnies were not happy this morning either. They were all piled into the back corner when i went to feed them,, lol yes i was skittish all last nite n slept like shit after the incident.. I anint afraid of bears but opening the door up to let captain bravo is the dark and hearing the yelping and raising the light up to be greeted by him was a bit of a shock... he wasnt agressive though in any way shape or form even when he swatted the dog, looked at me or when the dogs were all herding him around.. It was his timing of the whole thing i didnt appreciate,,
cool I had my first bear sighting this summer, and it IS an adrenaline rush. It was only a baby black bear though
Yeah, we've had one behind our house up here, which is quite strange, seeing as I live up in Michigan, down in the Lower Peninsula, where bears aren't really common. It's just good that nobody has gotten hurt. Stay safe, both of you! This forum can't stand to lose our local asshole
Have aloud hand-drum...find that works real well every time for me...my bears must be friendlier...course I learned early on to keep a clean camp and any foods well secured. Keep a gun inside in case and make sure there still some cordite smell coming from it (fire it every now and again). But I get to talk to them and find them quite friendly and sociable. And needless to say...never ever feed them ! I have bird feeders and usually take them in (when I am feeding the birds) every night...though sometimes....but knock on wood the bears have stood off and let me take them down after I drum them and then come and lay on the ground to get the seeds there. But even as bears usually reflect your emotional fears, I do know they are individuals and liable to be just as nasty as any other individuals can be...so being prepared, and knowing your own self is very important.....fear becomes the mind killer...and that can be quite literal too. This is their home too and we share it with them....being the hermit and all ... sometimes find them much better neighbors than their human counterparts...lol have bear encounters 5>15 times a year...usually on the lower end of that scale ...depending on how good their own food is doing, we have a lot of corn in these hills and that is there mainstay here. But there are times when the only food they can find comes from human sources....and they learn bad (for humans) habits. And we've been blessed having a mother raise hers here for the last....almost dozen years now...she is family and respect goes a long way....the stories I could tell there are unbelievable though true. want to emphasize again ...do Not feed the bears...therin lays the path to the dangerous bear. love living in the woods....off grid make it even better to be here in the Now with nature. Blessings and much love to both of you Namaste
