You can no more contain the english language then you can stop the world from spinning. It is a living organism in constant flux. Interestingly (at least to me) most major changes in our language happen on the playground - by ten year olds.

The idea that there is a "right" and a "wrong" grammar is not widely accepted among linguists. There are many dialects of our language just as in others. Which ones are more "acceptable" than others has to do with which group is in power. Language is used as a way of maintaining power among the elite class.

That's one way that the Roman Catholics ruled Europe for so long.
