The hippie movement of the 60s won't happen again as it happened then, but I strongly believe that there will be another movement similar to it. However, it won't happen unless a lot of things change. Today's youth (by which I just mean younger generations, not, like, children) needs to wake up first.

The 60's will never happen again. Nothing will ever be the same, and there will never be as many hippies... After all, the reason for the explosion of the youth population back then was because of the baby boomers.
However, I do believe it's possible that a similar "anti-establishment" and "peace and love" cultural revolution could re-emerge in a much different form. I think it's very, very possible that there will be a spiritual re-awakening in the future, a bit like the 1960's.

However, I don't see hallucinogens ever becoming as widely used as the 1960s, and I definitely don't see the music ever becoming that good ever again. If this revolution does happen (and it very well may), it will have new meaning and a new name.

Would you without question leave everything you treasure? Leave your loved ones and undeniably causing severe pain to everyone close to you? Would you or would you not leave your home, your city, even your country or maybe even the time you presently live in. The chances you would have to take and the final outcome may be disasterous... Only the one who cuts the strings off his life that connects him to the the vantrilquist society that pulls at his strings like some sort of puppet expecting him to respond to every command. Only he can truely know what the final outcome will be once the ceremony has ended. The second coming of the flower children has begun as the ceremony has ended... Time fluxes and the people change... they may revert back to a previous time or keep going on to see what lies ahead. The promised land has shown its face only once, but we let it slip away and when the last grain of sand dropped from the top of the hourglass it faded into memory. Truely the the flock of birds are flying this way to set us free... Can you feel the wind calming? Just over the horizon do you see them as the sun begins to rise again.

The sixties were the best years in human history. We definitely need a rebirth and we don't need a new time, because if we keep changing the farther away we get to true tranquility. The sixties were like the Garden of Eden and we need to bring it back and make sure we never lose it again. Is it possible, yes. Will it happen probably not, and that my friend is the sad fact.
