I was leaving the woods this morning and there was, you guessed it, a vw van parked at the head of the trail,


three "hippies", one of them playing a dejhembe.
One looked up as I was coming down the trail. I said "hey".
No response. I walked passed them--nothing, not even a nod.

I was really hoping these guys were travelling and hard-up and I'd see them later panhandleing at the gas station when I was working my shift so that when they asked me if I could float them a cpl bucks for gas I could tell them to fuck off.

No such luck.

generalization isnt good...i bet u havnt met verymany hippys so how can you judge a group of people by the few you have met.

 

The convenience of people choosing to follow a label is that you can stereotype them guilt-free.

 

I think everyone you talk to will be differnt. You should ask those people if they really are hippys they may not be. There are some people on this fourm who really shouldnt be posting because they have nothing in common with any hippie ideas. Just talk to and be around the right people.

O____o my friends and I... we're the happy go lucky type... but we've encountered some people and we'd say to ourseves " hey they look cool" we try to say hey to them or whatever and they blow us off yet we've run into some hippie type that'll let us toke up with them after like talking for 10 minutes, everyone's different, every group's different *shrugs*

I used to work music festivals. The ones I worked with were often two faced. They acted friendly but would go behind my back and gossip about me. Their music sucks ass and its all the fucking same. Some I met where just homeless drug addicts. Some were cool I'm not going to bash all of them. Some would help me get pot or help me at my campsite. However I did feel like most of the ones I met just used each other to get drugs. But yes many of them have that know it all attitude. Eating meat is bad for you man but drinking alcohol and taking LSD is great for ya! The cool ones I met didn't try to force any kind of opinion on me about anything. The alpha male hippies I met were dicks. The cool ones will share with you even if they don't know you. These kids at festivals are not hippies. They're spoiled little rich kids that act like know it all douche bag hipsters. Again not all but many of the ones I met traveling did fit this profile.
