Holy cow batman, did I take a Rip Van Winkle and fall asleep for 20 years or
what, the concept of hippiedom must have changed from when I was younger.

Picking apples from an orchard is not steeling, its gleaning, an act where by
the poor and hungry are allowed to go into the fields to gather food left by
the planters, it is even mentioned in the Christian bible.

Part of the concept of being a hippie, or being in hippiedom is every one is
equal, no one is master no one is slave, all equal and everything is free for the asking for those who are brave or free enough to ask.

I have lived free of the evils of money for at least 40 of my 60 years, while money it self is not evil the quest for the all mighty dollar or any other currency is.

I spend very little on food, my clothes are from thrift shops and yard sales, and I keep clean by washing in streams and rivers in the warmer weather
and in car washes in the colder weather, if I have a buck or two I might even take a shower at a truck stop.

Housing is free, I live in a converted 60 passenger school bus, complete with heat and a bed, even have an 8 track player for my tunes in there. Gas is no problem, there is always someone who wants to go somewhere and if they
have cash, then I have gas.

What I have to say to anyone is if you don't live free....you ain't truely free
it takes some getting use to especially if you come from a background where
having things is importaint, but look at it this way, you can't take those things
with you when you die, and things are not as importaint as being free.

Perhaps the old meaning of being a hippie, or being in hippiedom has changed
over the years, but for me, I will always keep on keeping on, I will always
    keep the faith

happyhippie, that sounds great. the only thing I'd change is i don't think I could live with just an 8 track for music. but otherwise....it's all good. :)

for breakfast give me some Whole wheat something, like a tortilla or toast, and some eggs and maybe berries. a feast!! i'm not vegetarian at all, but sometimes lean that way, just from taste.

And contrary to what many people may say or think, a good breakfast starts off by brushing your teeth!

if you mean my post my home is veggie. the omnis have to eat restaurant critters.

I haven't seen JBM coffee out of "gourmet" roasters in a while...bad crop year? Just not paying attention? (i'm not the java head)
but small local roasters are the place to srat. It's mild, so if you need a serious wake up, look to Oxaca.

hey, I feed half a dozen hippies breakfast every day....my family!

We generally have tea with soymilk, fresh fruit and granola, or toast.

On special days we have eggs, or scrambled tofu, with salsa rolled up in a tortilla, and fried potatoes -- yum! Oh yeah....the kids like to make a batch of pancakes or waffles and top them off with powdered sugar, maple syurp, coconut flakes, carob chips, and fresh fruit.

When it comes to breakfast you might see sausage at my table, browns, biscuits, eggs, fruit, juice. Hey what can I say? You would be fed till full and entertained the best I could. Mi casa su casa.

I damn near died from eatingout of the dumster, doode. Why not go into thetruckstop and ofer to work for your meal. Sometimes they will just give it to you free.

If your staying in one place get an EBT(food stamp) card.

BTW I can only eat fresh fruit or raw veggies now
