i don't know if that would really suit this place well. i think something that was more like reddit would work well though.
Last I heard...you can skip over music videos or anything else you don't like or want to listen to or read......and go to something you do like better.
Hey Skip you didnt answer my message buddy (If I mi$$ed it Im sorry) Will I still be able to use the default IPB skin?? I do hope so,I love it!!!
Mods have their own point system for "rep", which can lead to restrictions on posting. Besides, real rep is managing to get thousands of posts without ever getting banned. Real rep is not causing problems or provoking others and being a good poster and sport. Real rep is helping others who need it. Real rep comes from being a volunteer mod. Real rep is supporting the site. As far as rep for an individual post or those given by anyone, really doesn't have nearly as much weight as far as we're concerned, but it does account for something esp. for those who've been around a long time. Anyway, I'm going to approach this upgrade more slowly than I thought at first, as I want to be sure it's an improvement that everyone will enjoy. So don't hold your breath... Good news is it should go faster and easier than before. We're not anticipating any loss of data. More important is whether it retains the full set of features in this version and that it's not buggy.
I guess it IS possible to put MORE PURPLE on the site, but likely there will be less. But this still won't be generic white like FB, twitter and other social networks.
How about constantly swirling colors that put you in a trance the moment you login... :sultan: Then you'll all be under my control...hehe...hehe... unk: unk: unk: A zombie army, ready to fight boredom (or at least be the cause of it) Either way a little change is good.
I hope so Skip........ But I did wanna tell you.... I do have the CSS file for the default IPB skin so if for SOME REASON "Style 1" is not available on version 4,I can still use it...... (The basic colours of style 1,not the icons) I hope we dont lose style 1 though! (I like the nicer icons)
i'd like the option to change the color on my own....just a basic change....i'm not always feeling in a purple mood .........nothing fancy....kind of like when we could customize our profiles....I have never checked.....can we still do that? another thing....why no more public messages on profiles....I would love that option back as well......half the fun was profile conversations that were easy to access
Yes if your browser lets you use CUSTOM CSS you can do what I can do (And the reply above mine) Being able to use CUSTOM CSS is very handy!!
I quite like the purple theme. I've also found the opposite with the blues, unless it is very light. The background for the posting icons is okay, but I still have a bit of problems with it. But whatever the colours, this is still going to be a pretty great site. As for reps, I've never really given two shits about them. I like the fact that you can like someones post, whether it adds to their points or not. And thumbs down aren't too bad either. But neither one should add points to anyone's reputation. They are just a way of showing that you agree or disagree with someone's ideas. Maybe you could change it to an agree/disagree button, with neither one adding or subtracting any points. and allow everyone to see who has selected what. Sometimes I disagree with someone, but not strongly enough to actually post a reply. When I feel I have something to contribute to a thread, I will post, as I am doing now. I know that not everybody is going to agree with my ideas and opinions, but I will just have to suck it up. To have to have a minimum number of posts to be able to PM somebody, that does kinda suck. I have been on some boards that have that in place, and it can make it difficult to communicate sometimes. I understand where you are coming from though, I wouldn't want people sending me pics of vaginas. BTW, feel free to forward any cock pics on to me! LMAO I'm not sure how to best alleviate that type of problem. Perhaps having to talk to a moderator first, then they can start to PM others?
