Exactly. And its the reason why remarkable efforts have failed for 30+ years. In a truly free, open, and honest society cannabis would have been re-legal since the 70s.

But this anonymous thing is different. Maybe it could work..

Im all for that, as well as lifting the prohibition banning legitimate research into the nature of conciousness using psychedelics as the catalyst for the triggering of profound mystical experience.
It is my opinion that the absolutle number one problem behind the state of our world, is that people have no spiritual foundation whatsoever, and can no longer rely on THE WORD. What we need is the truth, and so long as people are unable to be open about spirituality experienced through psychedelics, we will continue this rapid pull towards a magnet of self destruction and eventually erase ourselves from existence.

Do you know anything about MAPS? I think you would really get along with that guy..

And I dont know too much about this, but I think they have lifted some restrictions and are doing research into MDMA and magic mushrooms right?

Fucking with cults seems like more fun though. What about the Irish Travellers? Or polygamous cults out west. Oh man that could be good shit.

    i agree to an extent.

psychedelic research is by no means banned outright, even in the US, its just very difficult to get through all the red tape. but its been done more than once since passage of the controlled substances act. but when research IS permitted, it is permitted only to scientists

regardless, as valuable as scientific research of psychedelics is, there are profound spiritual implications of psychedelic experiences, as you know, and a hospital room isn't really the best place to trip for many people.

we need to legitimize a new branch of study, with a middle ground - not quite religious, but not quite scientific. i would move to establish psychedelic "temples" where people of both scientific and spiritual leanings can peacefully coexist and pursue research of psychedelics in a safe place conducive to such experiences from either angle. it should be welcoming to scientists as well as psychedelicists alike.

it would almost be a throwback to the better days of millbrook

I think most people are in agreement with the temple, or center, concept. It's true, when it is approached soley from a psychiatric perspective, you will end up with what happened the first time around, total misunderstanding leading to misuse.

IMO, Anonymous works because it's NOT against the govt. If you aren't a Scilon or being paid by Scilons, we're just the cute and funny kids from the internet. It's REALLY hard to get mad at Anons while they're protesting. Some of the tactics remind me of Baptist youth groups...

I would love to see a MJ legalization and I'd even e-mail Katt Williams personally to see if he'd help. LOL I'm one of those folks who won't do it until it is legal and I'd like to try it before I die.

The OG (Old Guard) have never BEEN part of Anonymous, they are TWO separate groups who have joined together

that is true, those of us in the old guard have no desire to call ourselves anonymous... that we are known and named as critics and visible is our strength!

I'd like you to answer Drebin's question if you don't mind Skip. Is it just the masks? That would help us out a lot. It's no secret Anonymous wants more "boots in the street" at the protests. We're already making headlines so anything associated with the masks would be recognized. I see a common goal here and a way we could scratch each other's backs.

The OG are the OG and should remain so. They're invaluable for background material and for their public speaking. It's important that we have the two 'factions' working together, but incorporating a third could bring us all real power for our causes.

I think you should indeed hold a think tank on it and seriously consider the possibilities. Just my $.02.

we're not going to help you "legalize it".

there's no reason for masks if that's your goal. we just passed proposal 1 in MI, the legalization of marijuana for medicinal uses. not one person involved in that needed a mask, nor needed to call themselves anonymous, nor use any of the tactics we have adopted in order to fight a cult known to harass anyone with a recognizable identity. people just voted.
