these are excerpts from the first page of this thread, before anything happenes this is a tribe decision, since we didnt actually establish a guidline to something like this happeneing we have to create a precident this time. So this is an extremely important decision.

this was our initial agreement.

as far as I see it he has paid his membership contribution which everyone has paid...and no one ever gets there money back, they get out of the bus what they put in.

on msn alex and I spoke of this and it was his plan not even to see this bus but to meet me only in new mexico after getting a ride on the huglife bus when it left only as far as to new mexico. from there he would be making his way to san fransisco for the summer of love festival and flying back to hong kong from there.

I told him it would be cool if he at least saw what he was contributing too. and I asked if he could get a flight from vancouver and we would drive him there the first week of sept.


when he fucked up his stay at hillbillies he called me begging me for help in the middle of the night, there are posts here about this.

I told him to try to make it to knoxville since we had a tribe bus there.
he did so then I emailed jason and a few other kids I met down there to try to find him.
jason found him and has...babysat him since.

I have co-ordinated this bus building progect, though at no time took ownership of this bus always I have encouraged group ownership.

the bus has been bought with three contributions thus far, alex and angela and my own.
I have reciptes for more than a thousand in supplies alone, and reciptes for the purchase of the bus storage costs,. tax on the bus, and now the 500 dollar bill for a failed safety and an E test.

as of now 3800 has been spent on the bus 1800 of it from my own pocket.
still shy of the original 5000 we need. the bus is not yet ffinished though extremely close.

lets keep this discussion as an open forum so as both to establish a precident (first 100% communal bus of the tribe) and as welll to avoid he said she said of forum drama.

Hey Drew,

This sounds like alot of drama ...that frankly you do not need....

I was always under the impression that this was going to be a cooperative bus tribe...and that who ever was able to put money towards it was going towards a collective fund...non returnable as it then became tribe money.

My first medical hurdle was successful yesterday...I am home recovering for a few days...will keep you up to date.

Hope this drama settles down and you can focus on the positive side of the bus tribe... keep your faith Drew!

 

I have no doubt it will blow over. though I am sorta curious abou this because weve never dealt with a communally owned bus.

I agree that that was and is the idea.
I do want to make sure the rest of the tribe comes to a consensus though.

Glad that you are still in a positive mode....and I have faith that the tribe will come together on this...and pave the way for a decision making process...you have some fine folks on this tribe.

I get the results from this medical stuff on August 8th...so am hoping that I can still become part of this...but because of the uncertainity right now, will not make any commitments, as I know how disappointing it is when someone does not follow through....

Well Alex from what i understand, you havent been booted from the tribe or anything.
Now we have always said its what you can/ what you want to contribute that you should give, ppl have joined us with no monetary contribution and thats fine. (though dosent help progess )
And im sure if you cooled your drama jets a bit you would be a loved tribe member.

Now as far as wanting to take us to court,
we could, i suppose veiw your contribution as a deposit, which in most cases are understood to be none refunable.
Also your threats to sue seem rather hollow, where would you sue us from? China? Im guessing thats where you sent the money from, and where this would most likely start. How much do you think an international dispute like this would cost you? much more then 1,000 dollars, infact im willing to wager my right to eat delicous morning sassauges on it

the 70 bucks,, 25 went in the tank,, an the rest the sister that took him kept.. it was midnight when she took him,its 50 miles over a mountain to the bus station,how much you think a cab woulda cost?
an she had to be at work at 7 am,which by the way,,she wound up gettin fired that day., an the only reason she took him was he was going to call 911,because "in hong kong police like taxi"...

so if you ask me, 50 bucks for 3 hours of driving in the middle of the night was more than fair.
