I personally like my dreads maintained. I am all about people who like let their dreads go but I like to keep my dreads nice. I have only had them about 3 weeks but I am going to make sure that they are nice in the end. I understand the whole belief behind dreads and how you should just let them go but I personally like them to look more professional. I like them as a hairstyle more than a lifestyle. However, my lifestyle fits dreads perfectly. I love the rasta lifestyle. I love reggae music and I am about as chill as one can get. I just prefer to look good and have people look at me in admiration rather than questionability.
wow, nice way to talk to a fellow dreadhead... I think they look great on you, I like how your new set is starting off. Keep us updated. Peace.
oh. well, not everyone is going to have positive things to say...id would rather encourage people to be honest with me than to blow smoke up my ass. my 100-98.
they look really really good,, but as someone said before.. too perfect for my liking. but thats cool, you like 'em and thats all that matters ^-^
geez, everyone is being an ass! instead of posting 'pass' just pass! I think they look good if you like your dreads looking super maintained. I can't belive how thick they look from your before picture, that's cool.
Thanks! The super maintained thing... I don't get it. I barely touched em - why does everyone say they are super maintained? I like em neat and they just happen to do that within the first week with minimal intervention and that's looked down upon. I don't get it. What does it matter how I like MY hair? Seems like an ongoing theme here... if you like neat hair you're "bad". I think it's still hasn't gotten across that dreads aren't a "journey" for everyone - personally I love the way they look and feel and on me and they make me happy. Not a journey here, just a great low maintenance hairstyle (compared to blow drying, curling, and volumizing my natural hair everyday) I'm starting to agree with what some folks here have said... this board is getting ridiculous - seems some people would rather tell someone else why they are wrong instead of accepting what another person likes and leaving it be. Regardless, I appreciate the input. BUT... I don't think I'll be coming back. Just reading threads on this board seems like there's a lot of negativity regardless of what the topic is. Peace, peoples! Sue
