What is so wrong with a republic? Oh yeah, it's a horrible idea to protect citizens from a corrupt and out of control government! Hippies annoy the fuck out of me sometimes. They talk about freedom and free thought, yet don't understand how to protect those concepts.

Your second statement is true, but that has been perverted by the need to protect from outside forces set out to destroy and corrupt/greedy people and government.

 

Ideally there nothing is wrong with a republic. But people should be encouraged to question the system since their are a million and one ways to abuse it.

 

That's the entire premise of a republic. I can understand people having an issue with the god part, but a republic (true republic, not what this country has devolved into) is the best thing to happen to the common man since stone tools.

Here in Canada all we do is sing the national anthem every monday in schools, just once a week...

but i had no problem with that, i'd be more than happy to stand up to our national anthem.. but to pledge alligence, every single day? I dunno about that..

I remember this one gothic chick in my home room... she always refused to stand up to the anthem, she was such a fucking joke like c'mon, bitch, stand your fatass up you could use the exercise... its just an anthem, nobodies telling you to sing along and embrace, just have some goddamn respect
