Watch the movie "Requiem for a Dream", it's all about heroin and speed, and it really opens your eyes to the dark side of drugs, and especially how easy it is to get lost in your addiction and how real it can be.
Herion prices and potency vary wildly by location. in the NE it goes for 10 a bag in the ghetto or 20 a bag in the suburbs. you get about 1 1/2 lines per bag. Herion is probably the only 'bad' drug that's in some sense worth it. it's insanely addictive and has an insanley fucked up culture attached to it, so if the drug don't fuck you over the people will. it's just not a chill scene at all. don't ever inject anything. seriously. if you want a habit that is the best means to get it. either smoke or snort it, and start really low if it's your first time... and don't think you are rebelling against society, you aren't, you're playing right into it's hands. the powers that be want you to be helpless, and there's nothing more helpless than a strung out junky. be smart, be safe.
I know this thread is a bit old, but honestly people, if someone is going to do heroin, they're going to do heroin. Do you all honestly think that this is new information and the first time they've heard heroin is bad? I've always considered myself a very educated drug user, but once I got too deep into OC's I eventually tried dope, something I ALWAYS said I'd never do. If your at the point that your considering dope, it's highly unlikely your going to get talked out of it. With that said, I live in the North East and I get decent powder dope... $15 a bag is the standard price (I believe it's about .1, but I've never weighed it, it's sold by the bag) A bundle (10 bags) really really varies. Everyone's dealer has their own price and it really depends on who you know, but typically it's $70-$130 (Some dealers sell it for $150, so $15 a bag) A brick is 5 bundles (50 bags) and that can go for as low as $250-$300 up to $500 ($500 is really high for a brick though) If your going to do dope, don't shoot man. Honestly, I've always felt that sniffing OC's and sniffing dope is exactly the same. Dopes cheaper and theres cuts, but the high is the same. Once you shoot, you never go back to sniffing. The high is totally different, you get high off alot less, and you get addicted that much quicker. Once you shoot, you can't rationalize not shooting a bag and sniffing it instead, because it just seems soooo wasteful. Heroin isn't a death wish. Quitting H is easier than quitting alcohol or cigarettes. People dramatize illegal drugs too much because they are illegal. The euphoria is one of opiates best though so you just won't want to quit. I have known people to keep it to once a week, they usually end up using more but are able to re-manage their use. It's tricky stuff, not worth the risks or the money. And unless you have medical grade diamorphine you could be getting/doing a whole lotta more shit than shit.
