You aren't a racist. That's the whole thing about affirmative action. They don't want the smartest people they want to fill a quota and if they get sub standard applicants then they can claim the program doesn't work. It doesn't work anyway because the concept is stupid. It's just like when someone hires a shapely woman to "entertain" clients for a business firm instead of someone with a degree in business and experience in handling people. It's just another part of society hiring "Eye candy" only this time it's "politically correct" and suppose to making up for past transgressions. (Just like hiring skinny people to work fast food instead of hiring someone that can count well enough to handle money. We don’t want brains we want looks.

and btw, dont cry cause we have a black history month... When in school do you learn about black history.. NEVER until just the one month out of the year...Does that seem fair to you? We learn about all types of white leaders and white people every stinkin day of the year...

What is wrong with designating a month to study a history that is hardly ever touched upon, but essential to understanding the state of the world.

Stop whining about that, have you not learned enough white history? If you haven't then I guess you've never attended a single history class.

There are things to complain about, and things that make you look like a chump.

 

Im not complaining about black history month i rather enjoyed it in school .. But i dont get why we have it and black entertainment television ect. ect. ect. If they dont want to be segregated anymore... Im not saying their bad.. I just dont understand the logic.

 

If I'm out, and I see a black hooker and a white hooker, I always pick up the black one. I feel that it is my responsibility to act affirmatively to help account for past injustices. (Plus, black hookers always have stems, and I always need to borrow a pipe when I'm out).

 

well, like it or not, there is a sub-culture in America called "black culture" that evolved during times of segregation and discrimination. Now, not only blacks like "black" music, "black" film etc. but I think that if they didn't band together as a race, they likely would have never been able to even make that record or film...maybe the name could be changed now to get people to calm down, but it would still consist of black people making music and film who's theme comes from the black world.

I guess they could call it "the rap,r&b & jazz network."

People just need to accept that people coming from different backgrounds have different cultures, whether they be janitors, executives, hillbillys, hasidic jews, etc.

About affirmitive action, i belive a better way to go about it is to improve the quality of schools in "black"and poor areas, and to increase the available scolarships in all poor areas.

i don't think Affirmative Action is fair. until college, all my schools i went to were dominated by "minorities", but i ended up being the minority in school. i was always one of the few white kids in the school. i was always one of the "poorest" kids. but yet, when it came to college, my friends who had better upbringings then me, had a more affluential family than i had got special treatment from affirmative action. they got scholarships. i was never even considered, just because i was white. but yet, i was the minority in the school system of boston. i fail to see how race-based affirmative action is fair and balanced. i dont' like it. i think its a piece of shit program.

in boston, we had affirmative action for the police department and fire department. people with the highest test scores in their class were passed over for people with lower test scores just because they were white. that right their is putting public safety at risk, imo. i dont' want some person who is barely qualified for the job protecting me and the rest of the city from criminals or a person who barely passed the firefighter test to be putting fires out. those people aren't competent to do the job. they got the job because they were a "minority" and the department had to fill a quota and people who were far ahead of them in the testing were passed over just because they were white. i don't see how that is fair, nor do i see how the public is safer from hiring incompetent people.

 

you dont learn about many blacks in history because they didnt contribute to the foundation of america...and the ones that did, you hear about. during black history month, one day i remember they read, over the p.a, about RIchard Prior. im sorry, but that is just a bad excuse to talk about a black comedian. id like to hear about someone who actually contributed to society. maybe if african americans did something important... just kidding....but seriously.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that you have this Borderline Personality Disorder and can’t help it being a wack job and I used to feel sorry for you. However, seeing that people with this disorder are extremely manipulative and all they want is attention (they don’t care if it’s positive or negative)…I’m going to do the exact opposite, I’m going to ignore you from now on.

I’m sure she’ll post something personal about me and if you don’t see me replying to any of her claims, provocations, etc….doesn’t mean that she has a point or something but unlike her I’m going to stand behind my words and won’t comment anymore.

 

just to let you guys know... a lot of times when people get passed over for someone who has less qualifications on paper and is of a different skin colour, it can have A LOT to do with personality. If you have an abrasive personality, or one that simply doesn't fit with what they're looking for, chances are you won't get the goal (scholarship or job or whatever)

it's not just affirmative action at play every single time, it can be more personality based than skin colour

 

case and point: Philip and Paul Malone, two white brothers went out to become boston firefighters and recieved failing scores. so they didn't get hired. after getting denied, they re-applied as "minorities" and once again recieved failing scores. but this time, after re-applying as "minorities," both brothers were hired as boston firefigthers even with their failing scores.

 

i SWEAR that i am not precious. seriously.

 

Anyone wonder in part why the US Postal Service delivers such outstanding service?
