Claviceps fungus is notoriously difficult to grow in a culture medium, the best success has been with fields of rye, it doesn't seem to like any other grain.
And the process for turning ergotamine into lysergic acid, then lysergic acid diethylamide, is very long and complex. You need a lab, and a lot of specialist equipment that's out of the range of the average pothead who thinks 'hey cool let's make soem LSD from fungus lol'

And for the best places to get it: raves, festivals, places where hippies congregate. Hippes + acid still go together like peaches + cream

 

I accidently found it for the first time on a goa / psy trance party. Its more common in those scenes, so I can advice more raves, psy events etc. as a place to possibly look. Its one of the few scenes where LSD use is actually fairly common.

Other then that I like sticking by the old wisdom that when you're ready, LSD finds you It did work like that for me. I had been looking for two years, and then I just got it offered quite unexpected and had the best first trip I could imagen in the best place with the best people (and the best part, it only got better after that). Either way, I'm sticking to it: You don't find LSD, LSD finds you.
