I feel you man. I used to be addicted to ocs (only for 3 months) and i cant say that i'm not still addicted. I crave them at least a few times a week even when i cant get any opiates. Its a bitch but i personally dont think this shit for me is going to end. I tried the "forbidden fruit", and now i have to bear the burden of an unending lust for it.

And relating to your original question, when i tried doin ocs again when i had stopped for a month, i snorted a 60 and felt nothing. Idk y that happened and my tolerance is still sky high. Idk if this is a natural tolerance or if it will eventually go away bc i hate it.

Ya man i understand where your coming from Dj. It is really hard when you think opiates are the only thing keeping you sane. They were my comfort zone for over a year and i am still struggling everyday at being sober. Not near as bad as i was half a year ago but it is still a battle. I originally got on subutex in august.... I had a bad relapse in december. I came back for christmas break from college and all hell broke loose after i put another roxi in my nose. I was back to using hard again. Then i stopped and have been off opiates since. I still think about them quite often and i know i want to use but i just cant. Everyday is easier once you realize you have control of your life and opiates don't. Its a good feeling being free. Just think how you were before opiates you can be that way again it just takes a lot of time and a lot of work.

I see where you all are coming from. Opioids simply are the perfection of living as a human being. That sounds weird to the 'outsiders' but makes sense to us.

I am lucky to have got oN Suboxone before it got too bad. So I am able to get pretty high on Subs which is enough for me. I have no problem admitting that I NEVER want to go off of Subs. I believe opioids have massive mental health potential, but are demonized. So i will just keep on self meditating with Suboxone.

Big question is or will be, When will subs not be enough? No wonder drug comes without a price, at some point, you will build a tolerance. It may not be as rapid as regular opiates, but it will happen.

I am not going to depress myself over something that might happen years and years from now. There are plenty of people who have lived decades on opioid maintenance medicines. Why are you so quick to be pessimistic? My life is in order for the first time in at least twelve years. I am content. We'll just leave it there. Ok!

To answer the question: when I develop this 'massive tolerance' (n.b. I take only 4-6mg of Suboxone per day), I am quite confident that there will exist a new, effective type of antidepressant drug or therapy that doesn't exist currently. Remember, I don't take opioids to get high. I take them to keep from killing myself.

Again. The internet amplifies the realistic tone that a person is trying to use. I run into this problem all of the time. That is one reason why I somewhat dislike the rampant use of the internet: You can't hear or see the person you are talking to, and, thus, not understand them fully.

But, honestly, I have done a good amount of research, and Buprenorphine is slightly different than regular opioids. It is a mu-mixed agonist (not straight agonist), and is also a kappa-antagonist, which has been shown to not only help depression, but also tolerance build up.

I also take Epsom Salt baths nightly. Sounds weird, but it is Magnesium Sulfate, which is absorbed transdermally. Mg + is an NMDA antagonist and tolerance dampener. Interestingly, the reason they use Methadone for maintenance as well as Bupe is that it is secondarily an NMDA antagonist!

So, that is the rather long, less emotionally charged answer. If you want to know more, I would be happy to provide more.
