I'm with you here, the problem is people are stupid. They need to be TOLD what to do. The problem is, people use that to their advantage to manipulate and take advantage of people, instead of trying to show them that there is a better way to be.

I don't think that the society in this country on it's own without the governments help would be able to solve it's problems.

I'm almost a libertarian, I would have rather had Ron Paul then Obama, but that choice wasn't reality. Reality was that I get McCain or Obama, and I got Obama. He's definitely not going to abolish most of the governments bureaucracy, so he might as well make the systems in place to help people better and more effective.

I don't know man, I don't have the answers, I just know the way shits going isn't good, and without a major change then I think government organizations should still exist to help people.

You want to fundamentally change a financial system that has been established for hundreds of years. It will not happen. Your best bet IS to move. If moving makes your life better...DO IT. I moved from NY to TX because NY is fucked, politically and financially. I moved to a better system where I could grow and make my and my family's life better. As I said, millions of people MOVE here to better their lives. They know they cant change the century old system in their country, just as you and I cant change this one. WE make the best of it by working hard and moving forward.

 

I agree. I dont want McCain, but more so than Obama. I want REAL candidate that doesn't accept millions from special interest groups. You know damn well that Obama will have to "repay" those billion dollar companies for their support. They all do. The system is flawed when only millionaires can run. We will never get that one great mind that deserves to run this country.

 

I'd also love to move to another country, but it's not that easy and it doesn't happen over night. I'm here now, I don't have much to contribute to another country, nor do I even have the money to make that kind of move at this point in my life.

While I'm here though, I certainly don't want to get rid of programs which help a few just because there are a bunch of people who take advantage of them. I don't have a better idea about how to do it. I know that there are people who can not help themselves, and I want help for them, that's all I want. I don't care who does it, but I don't have any better ideas.

 

I dont think a huge, inefficient government with overbearing taxes is the answer, though.

 

That's not really what I want either, but it's what we have. It will probably be what we have for the next 4 and maybe 8 years as well, maybe even for as long as it takes until something extreme makes people wake the fuck up and realize that this ISN'T working.

Thats a load of crap. Hispanics being held down? Thats the funniest thing I have yet to read here. They are being catered to in every way. You now have to make a choice to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. Almost every single job, wether it be low or high requires you to be bi-lingual. It has gotten to the point where, at least here in Las Vegas and many other cities in the west and southwest that if you cant speak Spanish you are screwed. This is America, where the primary language was once English, but that is quickly changing.

Pay attention. They get talked to like they are SHIT every where they turn. Watch a customer service rep with a smile until she hears an accent. That smile turns to hatred. People think that every hispanic person is a felon border jumper. I have seen this literally thousands of times first hand. I do believe you should speak English here, but this happens when they ARE speaking English.

I can speak Spanish, but I refuse to in my country to cater to those that dont speak English. If they are tourists, cool. I'll help out. At least put out an effort to learn the language that is spoken where you choose to LIVE.

Maybe it is because so many ARE here illegally, and that we still cater to them by most jobs requiring you to speak their language. Maybe MANY are pissed off at this scenario, and they have a right to be.

There are too many illegals here, I'll give you that. A lot of them WANT to be legal, productive members of society, but the government policies make that close to impossible.
