I'm having trouble seeing the governor's office in Texas through all the smog.

    http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/10/19/houston.smog/

Wow. Seven of the top ten smoggiest cities in the U.S. are in Texas. Houston is now worse than LA. *cough*

Well it's no secret that Bush doesn't give two shits about the environment. And our governor now is just Bush's little pocket jockey.

Or maybe, since the NAACP and its leadership bash Bush at every opportunity, he sees nothing to gain from putting himself in their sights again in a very public appearance. Do you think, honestly, that they would make every attempt to be fair to him, or would they more likely try to make him look ridiculous. You wouldn't go out trying to please and accommodate a group you knew hated your guts, either. Bush can't be blamed for not speaking to the NAACP. It's sure as hell not like after he did, they were gonna urge blacks to vote for him!

Give it a rest. The NAACP claims to be non-partisan, but they are transparent shills for the DNC. There is no point in a Republican trying to appease them, and it's not fair to imply that Bush is a fucking KLANSMAN because he won't commit a blunder like put himself up for the NAACP to take swipes at. Would Kerry go and speak before the National Rifle Association? Of course not!

He addressed them while he was governor of Texas running for president. I guess it became pretty apparent at the time, and since then, that he will never get a fair shake out of an organization whose leadership likens his administration to the Taliban. The NAACP is led by a bunch of racist, hatemongering partisans who themselves scream "racism" when so much as a gumball machine gives them a white gumball instead of a green one.

They have no credibility, when looked at in an objective light.

You could say the same thing about a crack dealer. "Not that I like crack dealers or anything, but at least he made his own money."

Edwards is the kind of attorney who brings suits against anyone where he smells money in their pockets, whether the suit has merit or not. That's the typical trial lawyer. Like the lying morons who sue gun manufacturers, as though the guns got up off the shelves and killed people without a criminal to point them and pull the triggers. No one so intellectually dishonest should ever hold public office.

Well, you could say the same thing about a crack dealer, a babysitter, a McDonalds worker, a small-business owner, a fisherman, etc...so what is your point?

I do agree however, that no one that is intellectually honest should hold office, but who those people are is all open to interpritation.

But don't think I am trying to stick up for the democrats...I am far from a democrat. I was more trying to point out that he wasn't born with all kinds of money, and therefore lived in the real world at some point.

Wow. Those are some pretty strong words...Do you think that because white people still make an average of $15,000 more a year than african-americans?

Are you worried that African American's will have equal rights in this country? That they will actually start voting? That they may actually defend themselves? The NAACP has done a lot of good, I suggest that you take the time to research them before calling them racist.

Bush supported the crack dealers. He bought his coke with his Dad's money.

Every president has addressed the NAACP while in office back to Hoover. Maybe the problem is with Bush. When I hear Bush complain, it's as if he blames the whole world for not being like Texas. Even his Dad had some expertise in dealing with other cultures. Bush Jr. needs to get out of the military bases and out into the real world more often.

For this year's campaign, Cheney looks at Bush and tells America "I promise not to die."
