Only in the restaurant on the train while crossing the country. There was still a sort of frontier spirit, may still be, when riding the train a long distance. Conversation seems to flow more easily. I think the lack of a shower and living out of a bag kind of equalizes us. I'm glad I got to have that experience. Me and all the other heathens were huddled together in the smoking car with heinekens hidden in our coats numerous times throughout our journey.
No, absolutely not. I'm very antisocial in real life and go to great lengths to avoid social interactions with anyone I don't know or am not making a business transaction with. I don't trust people. The only time I've ever had it done, it was SO rude. I was at the mall with my dad and brother and I got Arby's and sat down in the food court and was waiting for them to get back from Chik-Fil-A and this group of about 4 wannabe gangstas (I'm sorry, but gangs around here are laughable, especially if they hang out in the mall. The real scary gangs stay in their neighborhood and chase white people out), took over the table next to me and one just plopped his ass right down at my table. Didn't even acknowledge my existence, or else I might've been a little less offended. My dad would've flown OFF THE HANDLE, because he is a bit racist, so I just quietly got up and moved to the empty table next to me on the other side. I'm pretty sure the loud mouth bitches in the group started talking shit, but I was more or less ignoring them, lol. It's a good thing, too, because it was a very crowded Saturday afternoon and I get very irate and bitchy in crowds. I might've gotten my ass kicked if I hadn't have held my tongue. Haha.
there are restaurants all over the south where you have no choice. they call it "family style dining". which translated means everyone sits at a big long table and they put all the food on the table in big platters to be passed around just like thanksgiving.. i personally hate those restaurants more than i do traditional buffets.
No, I do not sit with strangers. Actually, I don't go to restaurants alone, I have no reason to since I have a home to eat at. Restaurants are for special occasions.
I did this on someone's back porch last night when I was drunk. LOL. I stumbled over there, it was some older folks, one was on a laptop and they were having mixed drinks I think. I just started talking with them.
actually - I'm sorry - just remembered a time I did join some strangers' table - it was at McSorley's in New York city - that place was just SO crowded we just had to sit with these people.. or we would have had to stand in the middle of the room with our beers like poor souls.
