Since I've lived on the Mississippi all my life, yes, I have swam in it. I was a little kid though & didn't know any better. I wouldn't dare swim in it now, it's dirty-that's why they call it the muddy Mississippi...

 

Many Times I used to live in The Quad Cities. I lived about ten miles from Buffalo Beach.

 

Don't forget the dangerous undertows & dead bodies!
