Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince - discuss the book (WARNING: SPOILERS!!)

July 6th?! Awesome! I'd heard it was coming out around the 17th or something! I can't wait. I love Harry Potter. I wonder who dies... I have the feeling it's going to be someone, because someone did in the last two books.

 

Yeah!!! But isn't this book going to be much shorter than the others...

 

actually it IS a little bit shorter I think. And there will definately be more people dying in this book.

I admit it, I have one preordered!

 

I have had mine on preorder for months now .. I think the book is something like 672 pages...

 

Yep, its 672 pages, a bit shorter than the last one. But I don't think it's out on the 6th July. The UK release is 16th, and I imagine the US one is the day after...

Yes, I just checked at J.K. Rowling's site (http://www.jkrowling.com) and it's July 16. I still can't wait!

 

I'm so exited!! The thing is, even though English is a language I obviously couldn't understand, speak, read and write better, I wanna wait til the French translation comes out. Cause I read all of the HP books in French and it would bother me to read this new one in English!! Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

 

i know its not long now, i cant wait i think i will go and buy it on the day. but i really want to know what happenes now grrrr xxx

I'm so excited too! but ummm I still haven't finished reading the order of the phoenix! (I know, crazy huh!)

I'm only on chapter seven! I started last fall then things got busy and I put it on hold, now I finally have a chance to read it but I feel pressured to get it read before the new one comes out!

ohwell! I should go so I can get reading, hehe

 

Im with you Incubus.. Im under the pressure to read OTP right now (even though I have already read it, I wanted to re-read them all before the HBP came out since its been sooooo long) Im only on chapter 6.... 700 or so more pages to go by saturday and I have to work all day Wednesday and Thursday... So basically I got tonight and Friday night to read it.. Its doable but Still a task...

But I Cant wait to read HBP!!!!

 

^ hehe good to know I'm not alone! we can create a support group for people who are rushing to read OTP before the 16th! lol

if you don't have to work saturday you could stay up all night friday to finish it, couldn't you?? hehe just drink lots of caffiene!

But If I stayed up all night Friday I would sleep Saturday!! The Joyous day.. One must be awake... But Im sure If its not done I will be up all night ... Anyone know how I can get the OTP in my head by osmosis.. Ill just sleep with it under my head and mabey it will absorb ?!

Faerie, you could buy the audio tapes/cd's and listen whenever you get a chance.
I thought about doing that, cause I didn't know if I'd be able to read it before saturday, anyway just a thought!

No it didnt it was a mistake only 14 people got copies of it before they pulled it hand have been ordered by a court to keep their mouths shut about what it says.. Oh to be one of those 14 people would be great

 

Jim Dale, who reads the US version of the HP books, is an EXCELLENT narrator. His voices are dead on.
