Happy Valentine's Day!

I dont care but I felt shitty today cuz people were giving out candy and I was COMPLETELY excluded.

 

Even though I know the history behind it I still say it is a pointless holiday That the Candy companies Made up to sell more candy

wanna know what's wierd. wifie and i went up to the flour garden bakery like we do every year. i had a turkey pastie and she had a quishe. neither of us bought cakes or candy! it wasn't intentional our not doing so. just the lunch was so filling we didn't really think about it. i mean we thought about it, but that was it.

of course we both had some of the house blend decafe too.

i am not a big fan of the day but i am happy for my friends who do have some one but at the same time, why should be have a holiday to show how much we care about our partner, should we not be doing that on a daily basis. I sometimes find this day to be the i fucked up big so i have valentines to make up for it. but thats just kinda of the feelings i have on it

I don't know how many threads get read. I have posted a couple that were ignored which is kinda sad Hopefully when we have been here longer people will pay more attention.

 

As much as I enjoy celebrating love, I don't use a manmade holiday as an excuse to do so. I celebrate love everyday. And buying chocolates, etc. for someone isn't my prefered means. A simple "I love you", a hug or a kiss says it better.

 

I voted other, because it's not useless, it's hurtful. Those in relationships can and should celebrate their love throughout the year. Having a paticular day just makes single people feel like crap.

 

I think it's a silly holiday.

I think Valentines and most other holidays are retarded and are a symptom of a deeply backward civilization. But maybe Valentines shouldn't be about couples; maybe it should be about single people getting together and possibly finding an interesting match. Like it could be all about the parties, and couples could get 2gether and invite all their single friends, or something like that.

It's really useless. I don't have to understand love, all i have to understand is that when getting into any kind of relationship, i have to know that we're only human and sometimes we are not always on the same page about love and what we want out of boyfriend or a girlfriend,especially at my age. uhg!
