Cool Stillcrazy! There is a couple we often pass on our way to the park that walk 4 greyhounds. I don't know if they are all their dogs or if they are part of a rescue in the area. Since we are always in the car Grace has never met them but she always lets me know when she sees them.

    :)

Gonna get started on the dreaded empty the rucksack and see what clothes need washed task. At least I had the good grace to leave it on the backporch last night! I promise I will get round to earmarking one of those attic rooms today. The one I crashed in last night seemed to have someone's stuff in. Oh no,stepping on a lot of toes already.......I will try and get my "communal living" head on today! See you all later, I'll be in the wash house if your looking for me ;)

    Good Morning Hippies,
I can see that there was a party going on in my absents. I hope it was way cool.

I have a little time off today. Spent the whole day cleaning. My kitchen was stricken with a nuclear blast of extream volume. It's all tidy now.

I have missed so much it's impossible to catch up, so, I'll just put out a blanket statement.

Hi and Good Morning Everybody, Welcome all new comers, missed Ethera, gald you're back. I'm allergic to cats, love and missed you all.

    Hi Sister,

This is a little gift to you. It will stop any allergic reactions to any of the cats that might be near you. The ring works Magically. And you only need to own it and have it be someplace. You don't always have to wear it.

It also matches your hair color. A coincidence?

Any kind of jewelry that includes the cat's eye gemstone is considered lucky, especially in India. It's supposed to help remove obstacles from your life, ward off the evil eye, ghosts, and negative influences. Some people wear it for good luck when gambling, because it is considered the go-to gemstone for games of chance.

May you never need to sneeze again. Unless you want to.

    Good Morning everyone!

I know I know some of you are actually going to sleep at this time.
    LOL

But it's still a Good Wish to you.
And you can always save it up for tomorrow morning. I'm wishing for you a very wonderful tomorrow morning. That could work.
    LOL

I love all of the pets. Pet help to make a home.
Cat make you understand that you are not the only person on the planet, simply because you are actually living in their house.
Dog can turn you back into being a child, because they make you go out and play. And they make you remember what play is and how to play.

You are very very welcome. (You know what they always say about gifts? It's the thought that counts. LOL. Funny yet kind of true, huh?)

Now I do expect to see you someday in the future nursing new born kittens with a toy doll baby milk bottle. Can You even picture that one?

I'm only glad that you enjoy it.
One other magical attribute that that ring has that I didn't mention.

It magically creates smiles on your face.

    Peace & Love

Somehow, I just knew that you would be room 20. I had even pictured that.

We will simply need to get that information over to aerianne as she has been adding people's names to the house room number posts, because she has MOD privileges and I can't go back in and edit posts that are more that four days old like that one.

Or if she wishes, perhaps shameless_heifer might edit this post and past your name right next to 20. Magical things like these can actually happen, you know. LOL

As to your rucksack, there's a washer and dryer in every bathroom. And soaps and stuff. There also a cloths line in the backyard if you prefer that. Enjoy your new room.

Old tiger, if you are listening.
    First, I love your cat!
You were at one point asking about a tour of sorts of San Francisco.

It's my breakfast time. I'm whipping eggs in a big stainless steel bowl with a whisk. And tiny dribble of milk or cream to blend the three eggs more smoothly. Not but a thimble full. and as needed.

I am showing off for you today, San Francisco Sourdough French Toast. The KEY Ingredient is the most Extra sour Sourdough bread that you can find because we are making Super Extra Sweet, so we will want the MOST sour in the world.
(Picture if you will, sweet and sour Chinese food. Now you will get the concept.)

Extra Sweet and Extra Sour. Kind of like some other things that you might think of, It's just no FUN unless you go all the way!

    Here is the secret ingredient.
I believe that this brand makes the most Sour. We Are buying the EXTRA Sour. See the lable? "Extra Sourdough."
    http://www.franciscobread.com/products-breads/extra-sourdough.aspx

You can try other brands, as well.

This type of sliced sandwhich bread is the best shape for making french toast. Not the traditional long Frenchbread loaves.

You can use long loaves, too, if you have a terrific bread slicing knife and cut your slices on a broad diagonal cut, for long slices.

Anybody can make this. Here's the process. Whip three eggs (should be good for two slices.), more for more slices, in big bowl till completely blended. Adding a tiny bit of milk sometimes helps to make it blend more evenly.

Hot big pan or griddle with lots of melted butter. Don't let the butter burn. Not too high. And should it start to burn, move the pan off of the heat. Wash pan if necessary, and re-butter. For best flavor. Otherwise YUCK!

Drench each bread slice in the egg on each side, and fry each side till a Golden color. Add more butter to the pan if the tongue says to add more butter. Or if the pan starts to get too dry. DO NOT USE PAM! or by all means anything healthy.

Put each piece on a plate and cover the top with more butter. The word "cover" means LAKE in this instance.

Remember the old tongue twister, "Better Butter makes the Bitter batter better."

Remember, we are making Candy here. Not breakfast.

On top of the butter, add at least an one eighth of and inch thickness of powered sugar. Confectioner's sugar.
Next, I slice diagonally twice to make quarters. Makes for better syrup saturation.
Separate by making a little room in between the slices. Room for syrup.
To finish, pour just enough maple syrup or syrup over the whole thing until it almost looks like soup. NOT quite enough to make it float.

Can you still taste the SOUR???

And rescue dogs, like ex-racing greyhounds, make you understand what forgiveness really is, they hold no malice against the human race that has abused them. It's very humbleing.

  15. Thanks for that Kenny. It's a shame that I've been bent over the old sink in the yard with a scrubbing brush ;) I do prefer my clothes dried outside though (no choice really, never had an electric clothes drier, such a waste of energy).

  16. I have sent Aerianne a message with my request.

Yes, that is ever so true. They just enjoy the love and the good times in they're retirement years with you. Very humbling, indeed. Ranger's dog who was our family dog had spent her long life like that. Racing, kennels, nonstop breeding. And then she was free. As long as she got lots of hugs and rubs and love, she didn't care about the past.

    So true.
    So who are you?

    Belgian Pancakes

    Submitted by: SIMKE*
    [IMG]
    Hello everyone,

This is a detailed guide on making real Belgian pancakes. In Belgium we make these a lot at many occasions such as childrens birthday parties, family gatherings, carnivale afternoon treats and on the 2nd of November on All Souls' Day but hardly ever for breakfast.

We also have a slightly different taste in toppings, ranging from jams over white granulated sugar, medium brow sugar, the very dark sugar, honey, fruits or even Nutella chocolate paste.

I often make these with soy milk and they taste also very good. So the recipe can be easily adapted for people that are lactose intolerant.

This batter will make about 10 pancakes. I eat about three and that's enough. The nutritional value provided here is for 1 pancake.

Please leave your comments and don't forget to rate :)
    Minutes to Prepare: 10
    Minutes to Cook: 15
    Number of Servings: 10

    Ingredients

    • 125 grams of white flour
      1 teaspoon of baking powder
250 ml (= about 1 cup) nonfat milk
      2 large eggs
1 individual packet of granulated sugar (=1 tablespoon)
      8 tablespoons of water

    Directions

Short description: mix everything, bake in a pan, eat
    ************************************
Detailed instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder in a bowl. Make a little hole in the middle and add 2 eggs in the hole. While mixing together, carefully add milk. When you stirr everything together you can brake peaces of the flour-wal on the side so the flour mixes in bit by bit. Make sure there are no lumps left in the batter. Add the packet of granulated sugar. It's can also be replaced by the same amount of vanilla suger.
Now add the 8 tablespoons of water to make the batter more liquid.
    ******************************
    Now comes the fun part.
    ******************************
Put a non-stick pan with a diameter of about 24 cm (=10 inch) on a medium heat. The pan should be warm enough to make a drop of water siss. Add a little bit of butter/margarine/oil but not too much, like the size of a pea to the pan.
    ******************************
Pour about 100 ml (= 0.4 cups) of the batter in the pan. Now you have to be quick and spread the batter over the entire pan because we want to make thin pancakes. Move the pan from the wrist. After a while you really get the hang of it and will be able to make perfect circles. If you are not so perfectionistic as I am, this step will be easier.
    ******************************
When you see little bubbles all over the pancake it's time to turn them. This can be done by tossing the pancake in the air letting it flip over preferably putting on a big show when there are children watching or just with a spatula. Wait a while for the other side to brown.
    ******************************
When you want to keep the pancakes warm while you bake some more, you can put them on a plate over a pan with boiling water and cover them with aluminium foil.
    ******************************
This batter will make about 10 pancakes. Yummy!

    Number of Servings: 10

    correction...excuse me..I brought 4 eggs=serving for 20 folks..
    so..double everything in the recipe,please...

That is a drag. We do need to come up with a better system for you. For instance. what if there were an old used table in the backyard which was exactly the same height as the sink? This way you could lie down instead of being bent over. That has to be better for one's back. Wouldn't you think.

    LOL
Relaxing while scrubbing. Not a major improvement but an improvement of some kind.

Better yet, a cheap used washer.

    old tiger,

Very cool. We had eaten something just like those about 4 weeks ago out at a fancy breakfast restaurant, with jam. Loved it.

Thanks! now we have a recipe! This is cool. Now we can make these at home. Never would have though of making those at home if it weren't for you. Thank you.

And don't be shy about cooking. Everyone mush eat. We may as well learn as much as we can about cooking. And practice makes perfect!
