I like it in this shell of mine, said the turtle....

 

To my recollection, that is the first nightmare I ever had about a wolf. It was massive......maybe 4 times bigger than any real wolves and menacing and threatening...i think I stood there in fear contemplating slowly moving back into my shelter, but woke up instead.

 

Happy, happy, joy, joy....I just found the snake curled up in the basement...looking and feeling kind of dry and not as slithery...not as energized either....so I carefully carried him with my bare hands...holding onto the head, and its tongue going a mile a minute still....to the stream, and put him at the water's edge....i hope he gets what he needs now to have a full recovery......There was a dust bunny on his face. I cleaned that off gentlly, as well.

Elephants know a good person when they see one. But for this happy herd of pachyderms, one man holds a place in their hearts above all others.

His name is Derek.

As a staffer at Elephant Nature Park in Thailand, Derek has forged an uncanny bond with the sanctuary's namesake residents — particularly with a young calf named Kham La. All he has to do is call out her name and she comes running, bringing with her other elephants who are clearly head-over-heels for Derek, too.

It's pretty incredible.



We've witnessed Derek and Kham La's heartwarming ritual before (actually, twice). Still, we can't imagine growing tired of seeing their shared affection play out so sweetly.

I went to a reggae concert the other day. So good. Met so many beautiful people there to.

 

gonna try to get tickets to local h but not sure if I can go until after next week. hope they don't sell out by then.

I'm back from my Japan trip today after an almost 12h flight.....this pic shows a very famous place near Hiroshima on Miyajima island...I took a ferry over there..it's one of the most photographed spots in Japan because of the famous Torii shrine...I will start my blog with pics soon...
I am glad you people are keeping this thread alive..I knew..it would STAY alive..ALWAYS...
and Japanese girls...well..are beautiful...but so are all of you chicks as well..

I love Miyajima (and I'm sure I could love Saori and Mika too...)

I spent a good 4 or 5 days on the island around during winter break when I was a student in Japan. I never got back to Miyajima or Hiroshima, but I never forgot it.

I wish i could go i live in Alabama..America it is all i really been too.

 

america is a big place sunny. dont get me wrong i would love to visit japan myself but unless you been to see the freaks on the west coast of LA or the broadway shows in NY or the monuments in the Dakotas or the Keys or the rocky mountains or the giant crater in Arizona or the smithsonian which you can spend a week in and not look at the same thing twice....i can go on and on but the point is that there is so much stuff you can see and do and not ever need a passport or thousand dollar plane ride.

 

oh well..yeah...this tread is sleeping again...gonna blow some spirit in it.. :bulb: where are you all,housemates??
i've been working hard to get my blog in order about my Japan adventures...next week friday i'm going to a garden gig of a girlfriend who will celebrate her 30th birthday...she and her bloke give a great free barbecue...music with DJ's...woohh..oh...they promess 20 degrees in the weather forecast...
moreover==her friend Eddy is one of the best flowerpower DJ's in Belgium..and a good friend of me for years...
