    Crusher is home!
he is 7 months old...born on march 25.
People had him as a little kitten, and he fell out of a second story window, and crushed all of his legs and bones in his face around his jaw......so they rendered him to my old vet(not my new holistic vet), as they could not afford to put him back together and told the vet to put him to sleep, if it was hopeless, so they rendered him. he has lived at my old vet's for most of his life.....operations...casts...rehabilitations......until he was good as new to be adopted out....when the other people took him last weekend.....that did not work out for them, so Crusher is here. I always felt this cat was mine....He meowed the whole way home...he is loud.....and has been growling and hiding from all of the animals here. It is alot for him to take in here, but he will be fine...i have a way with animals....and already have him sitting on the table in the room watching me and everything..I had to pull him out from under the couch, though....Minxy has hissed at him...surprising....Spanky has gone up to him and put his nose on Crusher's to make friends already....Spanky is so used to new cats coming into his world, and loves everyone anyway, and Finnegan, who I thought would be the problem with another cat coming in, walked by him, looked at him with his tail in the air and kept walking...no problem from Finney. It is only little Minxy at the moment....but I think Minxy will come around. Crusher is bigger than her, but not as big as my other 2. Crusher is how a 7 month old cat is in size should be....He has the pinkest nose I ever saw on a cat,,,,first thing I ever noticed. he is not as orange as some cats I have had, or as light buff as Minxy is either, but somewhere in between. here he is...He is fiesty, a fighter, a survivor, smart...and also very sweet and loving. I love him very much. He found his forever home today...

What a great story, Moonglow! I'm so glad Crusher is home with you, for I don't think he could have found a better home. :)

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for orange kitties, even though now I only have black cats and my one PURRFECT tuxedo cat, Brownie. :)

Of course we think Ella is the most beautiful belle of the ball.

    (Orange cats are always males.)

Yes, Bella is the bell of the ball for sure.... :)

yes, orange cats are always male, and that is why Minxy is a rare one...she is female.....I carried Crusher upstairs and gave him his own bed and room for now. these pugs are too much for him right now,....he could not make a move down here without them screaming and trying to chase him....so since, the guard is up at the stairs now to keep the pugs down here...Crusher is very relaxed upstairs now.....other cats are used to the pugs, but I think it will take Crusher at least a week to not be terrified of them.....

Well, now crusher just stays under the bed. I see he will need therapy to become a cat. Poor cat has spent his entire life practically living in a small cage or pen, I think.
It is going to take much time and patience.
When I can rally him out and onto the bed, I lay with him and love him and he is so sweet and cuddly, but as soon as he hears a noise or some other tenant of the house walks by the room, he jumps off the bed again and under the bed.
I am going to work with him though and never give up. His life has not been very easy thus far.

It would be nice if all pounds were like the hscpa where i got my cat. They had all the adults in a bedroom size room with lots of play things and climable scratching posts...actually they has a hotel type thing lots of cubby holes to hide in it was like 5 feet high with 3 or 4 levels.
Then they had a small office size room for the kittens.

Yes, it would be...a regular spa.....They told me that Crusher was just starting to walk around a bit there in a room.....idk....At least, the people who had him when he fell out of the window, brought him somewhere and just did not leave him to die, and at least my vet did all the work to help him......so i count those lucky stars for him. It is musical chairs with animals now....The dogs all went upstairs and I carried Crusher back downstairs...he is sitting on a counter in a kitchen observing the other 3 cats now....he had a few bites of food. i showed him again where the litter box is.....so he will spend the night down here with the other cats....It is quiet now....so maybe he will explore a little bit...He is the only cat that is not exploring like every other cat I ever had did......but he might not know this is his home yet, too, and think he is just visiting other's territory...The people who had him over the weekend have two big dogs. i am sure Crusher hid under a bed or somewhere and never came out....this could be why he did not fit in...they never had a cat before.....i work with them...Crusher is definitely terrified of the dogs.......
I took some new photos with my cell phone of him on the bed that are gorgeous. My other photos I posted today do not do him justice, but I cannot get them out of my phone yet. I may have to visit the store where I bought this phone tomorrow......I can't email myself photos from my phone or upload them on the computer anymore.....so i need help.....

Speaking of health spas....human hospitals should be get well centers, too, with water falls and beautiful landscapes and lovely rooms, too, instead of cold beds one after the other in a places that just make people want to die anyway.....

Cats are very sensitive to HOW they are treated when they were kittens..
if they were treated in a bad way then it will have further consequences when they grow up...
they can be psychotic, introvert, afraid of being somewhere or shy of other pets near them..
some cats will never adapt to the presence of a dog..
I am very proud of you,Moonglow..that you are such a pet lover..your new cat will be safe in this house..
in Belgium we get cat and dog hotels,or services from people who do a service like babysitting..
do we mention cat sitting here then(joke)

MoonGlow, I'm so glad you adopted that sweet little kitty! He is very lucky to have you :)

In my work rehabilitating animals, I find that warm, wet food seems to be the best way to an animal's heart. If your house is pretty busy, I'd suggest you leave a bedroom door open so he has a quiet, safe place he knows he can escape to. Try warming up a can of wet cat food and feeding it to him one can daily, or more if he needs to put on weight. Each day, move the wet food from one room to the other. You want him to associate being out and about in the rooms with good things- aka FOOD! :D Another good idea is to feed all the cats/pugs in the same room. Put the pug's food on one side of the kitchen, and the cat food on the other. Try to get them to all eat at the same time in the same room, so that they associate being together as a positive thing.

Best of luck rehabilitating! Keep me/us updated!

Good morning friends! I also have a special needs cat. Went to the cattery to adopt one about 4 years ago, took my daughter to pick one out. Out of hundreds of cats in the big room...we chose the cat that would not go in the cattery, they had to keep her in the office. She is deathly afraid of any other animals, so she had to go to a home with no other ones and no small children.

She had been attacked at some point and her face and nose are crushed, missing some teeth also. Took us 3 months to get her to stop hiding, now she rules the roost in our home. She does not go outside at all and is still afraid of strangers that may come by, but if its a friend that is here fairly often she warms up. She is now a lap cat for sure, I cannot sit for a minute without her jumping into my lap.

You can always hear her breath because of the messed up face, her breath is atrocious because she can only eat soft food. But...we love her! Oh yeah...she is 11 years old now.

Oh my word! I love love LOVE that ^^^! [IMG] You and your daughter were meant for her, and she for y'all. :)

That is wonderful and so very special. I rescued our (mean spoiled) BB from being trapped in the cement building across the road. She is a mess, and for sure tells us all what to do. lol

I've used my quote of likes for today or I'd have liked it...I'll come back and "like" that ^. :D

Took the bike out for a ride. Planned on going 4 miles then turning around. Got to the 3 miles to smalltown sign. I thought there was a 4 miles to smalltown sign so i rode a while longer. I kept saying one more block and i will turn around. Did that till i got to the end of the road. I turned around and went 100ft. Then got a flat tire. Had to walk the bike the whole way back. Checked the distance when i got home. 6 frigging miles and the tire decides to give out when i am at the absolute farthest away from home.

Perhaps, traveling with a cheap little tire patch kit in a small back pack is a future idea. Maybe.
Or a space/time wormhole that goes right back to your house. LOL

    But you're O.K. right?
