It was beautiful in Iowa today! *peeks out window* It's getting a bit more chilly, I may need to throw on a light sweatshirt x3

 

My sister was on a family outing in dorset, uk,which included her tiny grandaughter.. she hugged a very old tree mumbling 'you're so beautiful, thank you for being there'.. a few days she got a call from her daughter saying she was coming back from nursery & she heard her little girl saying 'you're so beautiful, thank you for being there' as she hugged a lamp post!

 

Awhhhh, oh my goodness! That is the sweetest, cutest thing I have ever read! Literally "awh'd" out loud

It's amazing the way kindness and compassion resonates with children. When they are raised in a kind environment, they often do reflect that back onto the world. And the world could use a whole lot more of that. Your sister sounds like a sweet lady with a sweet little girl!

 

Happy forth to all the yanks. Yeah i am a few minutes early but it is the forth somewhere in this country.

 

Happy 4th of July everyone (including my international buddies)!

I'm headed out of town to go to a fourth of july parade, and then a bbq at my aunt and uncle's. They're back from Hong Kong for about five weeks. Then I'm going to fireworks tonight, possibly a carnival. Should be fun

Ya know, as much as I dislike America a good majority of the time, having this day does give me a moment to reflect on just how free I am. I can dress, speak, act, and feel as I want to, so long as I don't cause harm to others. It's cool that I can choose my religion, I'm viewed equal to my peers, I have access to a basic education. What a wonderful blessing that is.

oh Laci, sweet my sister is not.. lol.. she IS a very good woman, she's 66 & has retained a bit of the rebel.. she still parties with a few hard core ol' hippies including my ex husband & my brother.. they get 'shitfaced' together.. her other daughter is in a new relationship (well, about 2 yrs now) & new man is made of the stuff that fits right in.. she gets stoned with him.. our generation are still smashing the rules to smithereens.. btw.. a visit to my house is detox time as I don't drink (the potein is a joke from when Roamy was around as we're both irish born) & the food is vegan, all sugar free & whole & natural.. in case it sounds monastic I'm very eccentric & scatty - a total dreamer.. I love craziness & chaos.. :daisy:

hi Laci.. like all the houses in our part of the world smokers go outside to smoke.. I don't smoke (I stopped some years ago), but being a 'live & let live' ol' hippie I don't object to smokers/tokers.. if you're doing no harm to anyone else then live your life as you want to..
we're getting some rain in liverpool uk, but these are glory days of summer.. :daisy:

I'm pretty excited, I was talking to my mom and we're going to get me started in the GED program so I can get my high school diploma- YAY. It'll be such a relief to have that out of the way and off my mind, allowing me to move on in life. I found some really, really good programs at the Animal Behavior Institute, I'd love to get the opportunity to take classes through there. They have certifications for becoming an animal assisted therapist, a zoo manager, canine/feline behavior and enrichment specialist, and many others. It would be so wonderful if I could graduate college and find a job working as an animal-assisted therapist and start saving up money to start my own farm animal rescue. Hoping I can start those classes by next January

 

I am being real lazy this weekend. Maybe I will get more motivated in the next hour.

I would like to see a performance from Hawkwind again..saw them once live in Derbyshire(U.K)
great band who play space rock...but the line up looks allright===some other good bands as well...
don't know yet if I will attend...but I have a great desire to be there(ahah)
