All this talk about potein makes me think of postum...i am sure they are very different things but just by the name....
potein is bit stronger then postum,penguin.. :bigcry: was postum not used by the Mormons because they did not like coffee?? youare a dude which puts crazy postings...but...I like you for it..We're all BIT crazy..
One is finishing college...the other is still "finding herself" at 22. That is still young...and you are only 17! I know you don't want to hear this, but you're still a kid. When you get older and look back you'll realize that. I ended up home schooling them both for their senior year of HS. They did not want to go anymore and would have dropped out if I hadn't. So they did get their diploma. You need to work on your GED. And, yes...you will get somewhere in time. Don't compare yourself with others. As far as driving, well....you do limit yourself but there are other people who do not drive. My mom didn't get her license until she was in her 40s. You like tea...herbs etc? Take an online class about herbs or something. Get your mind going and learning, and off yourself Also, whenever you get down on yourself, think of all your blessings and let the shit go down the toilet. Worrying and feeling down on yourself won't help pick you up. You are blessed to have your mom for support You'll be fine...patience.
I agree with piece..but...we cannot ignore our puberty years..very often we were very vulnerable to all kind of circumstances... if we get low self esteem and compare ourselves to others that we think are better?or have more luck in life? then we easily create an inferiority complex which can become a fixed idea in our mind... with the right support and attitude in life...we can get out of it...so..what's the use of thinking one is less then someone else? it's not very easy to built up self esteem if one is very low and down..it needs courage, insight and self determination.. you'll get there finally,Laci..you got so many years in front of you..come on,lift yourself up...you are someone... @piece and tyrso==thanks for your comments... :daisy:
All good words, all good words. I'm on the hunt for a job today, trying to find something that makes at least $300/month. That's how much my horse's board is and my mom says if I can't pay her board, I have to get rid of her. That isn't an option. Hoping I can find something close by.
Not sure who invented it but it is a coffee replacement. I like the replacements. Not the movie. The group. I like alex chilton. Not the singer. The song by the replacements. I mean i guess the singer is ok but the song is better. I like eddy vedder too. Both the song and the singer.
Took my CNA state boards this morning, passed the computer test with an 80% but got myself all nervous during the skills test- I HATE doing things in front of people, and I'm a terrible test-taker However I did apply to about 10 jobs for child care, pet care, and one job being a babysitter for a boy with Autism. I'm hoping to hear back from them soon It's been so rainy in Iowa, so glum. Someone shot up the local mall today, I found out when I was on my way there to buy a shirt. If I would have went, I could have been killed. Makes me feel very, very lucky and gracious for my safety and health. That makes things seem a lot less glum
Laci, some stables will let you work off some of the board fees, you could ask. If you babysit an autistic child, maybe you could take him to see your horse. That would be really good experience for you. Good luck!
No replies to my applications yet, but it's the weekend. Hopefully I'll hear from some people by Monday! I'm sure my barn owner would work out a payment plan for me, but I hate to do that. I'll find something, if anything, my horse is motivation to step out of my comfort zone. I had a really great day, volunteered at my mom's nursing home. We held an antique car show, bbq lunch, and concert for the residents, their families, and the community. The residents all had a WONDERFUL time and it was great! My favorite part was the concert, it was three older individuals that do covers of old western/country songs. A lot of the residents got up and danced, and I was thrilled to see some people from the memory care and assisted living units show up as well. I slow danced for the first time in my life too, though not how I imagined lol. He was 99 years old and insisted that I slow dance with him to a few songs. What moves he had! Wish I could dance like that. Hope everyone had a great day and a wonderful evening!
I went a car show Vilage Fete thingy aswell Where my daughter lives Some pictures Veedub Bus This reminded me of the Wacky races cartoons They had lots of old cars And a Band ( U2 tribute ) that was quite good One of the beauties I got to hang out with I had a great day
hi hippies.. sounds like these beautiful balmy summer days are doing us a power of good.. my son works in glastonbury every year for a month & his inner hippie comes out the moment he arrives & reconnects with old friends.. he has been living in germany for 3/4 years & has decided that he likes himself as the chilled out person he becomes.. he's looking to find a way to make a new in the southwest.. he brought along his stepbrother a few years ago (who had mental health problems & was reclusive) & he blossomed in that atmostphere & decided being a peace activist is what he wanted to do with his life.. he's grown his dreds & has spent the past year working for greenpeace.. this year my son brought along his cousin who also has mental health problems & he's loving the atmostphere too, recovering a lot of his wisecracking & witticisms.. they're camping in a field & gather round the campfire at night.. such a wonderful mix of people & suspending reality for the duration.. time for one of our happy house parties.. :daisy: :daisy:
That sounds so neat! I know a few people from Germany, but they lived there with the army, so their experience was a bit different. What does your son do with Greenpeace?
hi Laci.. I hope you're in good spirits, & life has taken an upturn for you.. It's my son's stepbrother who works for greenpeace.. he's my ex husband's son.. my son is a joiner/carpenter, & went to finish his apprenticeship in germany.. he's had a great time in Koln.. there's a big expat community, but the contrast with a month in glastonbury is very refreshing.. love to all in our happy hippie house..
it's a good feeling to see this house come more and more alive..I like it.. :daisy: @maura..have you ever visited Koln(Germany)?a very good shopping town it is.. we all will be allright in this house...and if there is even a little something which gives us trouble==we'll tell about it in here... because out of one opinion of someone...very often another and better opinion comes up.. some music to listen to on the bench under the oak tree in our house... :bulb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyUXlsQhVgw&feature=youtu.be
My aunt is driving my mom home intead of letting her take the bus. 9 hours driving (there and back if no traffic is hit) when she can just hop on a bus and save everyone the trouble of carting mom around.
