Hello guys!! So, I've been on a 3 month leave of absence to do some soul searching. Ended up dropping out of high school, I was just way too high-anxiety for it and didn't want to graduate with all F's and look bad to colleges or employers, etc. I'm plenty smart, but unfortunately the school system wasn't right for me on top of some emotional struggles going on. I'm happy with my decision and have since started a CNA (nursing assistant) course through a local community college. I'm pretty happy with it, but the teacher ruins it for me a bit because I feel intimidated by her. I'm hoping once I graduate and start working in an actual nursing home, my fire and passion for caring for people will return and I'll fall in love with it again. Otherwise I've kicked around the idea of becoming a lobbyist, a medicinal marijuana grower/activist (Iowa could use it), a hippotherapist (using horses for therapy), a psychiatrist, and a billion other things. My main passions are animals and helping people, so my end goal is to one day open a farm sanctuary where agriculture animals can live out their lives, as well as be retrained as therapy animals to work with individuals who have physical/mental disabilities, at-risk youth, individuals with PTSD, etc. The idea is people helping rescue animals, animals helping rescue people I guess. I would happily do that right now, but it takes money and degrees, neither of which I have, so I need a job until then. I can't drive due to my insanely high anxiety, so that limits where I can work too. I'm working through it and planning to get my learner's permit eventually, but I'm not at all confident in driving.

Otherwise, lot's of cool stuff going on. Iowa is finally starting to warm up a bit, so I'm really excited to do outdoorsy stuff again like visiting with my pony, swimming at the lake, hiking, meditating outside, going for walks, planting flowers, gardening, rollerblading, hula-hooping. I hate being stuck inside because it gets so cold here, but the thing about Iowa is that it's either unbearably cold or hot as hell. I wouldn't mind the cold weather if the snow and ice stayed off the road, and I wouldn't hate summer if not for the heat that makes me soak in sweat, plus the bugs that are always biting and swarming. Spring is nice with the sun and the general weather, except for the mud, but I'll take it. Fall is beautiful but never seems to last long enough My dogs are especially happy with the weather though, they can sit in the yard and soak in the sun. My pony loves the green grass starting to grow and her arthritis is feeling much better now that it's not snowing up to her tummy.

hi hippies :daisy: welcome back Laci.. it's wonderful that you're doing something you love doing, & sorry to hear about about THAT teacher.. hopefully you can take whatever she has to teach you, & not be stressed by her..Spring is here in Liverpool uk.. it's so uplifting, all my little seedlings just above ground but each day looking bigger! I'm starting the day with a soup made with dulse, ginger & miso.. wonderfully healthy..

 

Yeah its a lovely day :sunny: My daughter just rang me she is coming over with the baby and we are going to walk the wheels off that fancy pram

It's been a great day. The weather is perfect for jeans and a hoodie. I spent the day relaxing, and my boyfriend and I went out to visit my pony. She was pretty happy to get some love. I'm so glad the weather is getting warm

well..I got these travel itchings in my belly again... i'm bit of a gypsy soul..
oh well...let the summer begin..I'm intending to go back to Vama for some parties Ibiza style..but Romanian version(wooh)==see you tube...
i might hop over from 1st August until 20 september...Romania/Ukraine/Moldova
then october/november..I consider a big trip to Australia..
