I do agree 100% with you,Maura..when I was in Kent few years ago i saw that big money game which Halloween and Christmas has become... :devil:
just wander through supermarkets like Tesco,Sainsbury's,Asda etc...and one sees the consumption society flourishing...
to be honest...I did not like it..and I never will..in Tesco even the till ladies were dressed up in Halloween outfits..
i do not celebrate Halloween..It has become a money game...good to hear from you,Maura..how's Liverpool?
@Laci...on 8th October i was operated on my right eye for a cataract condition..now..I got complications=pink eye..it will take a while to heal..

Holidays are just big money-makers now. Like you guys said, it used to be celebrated by going to apple orchards, bobbing for apples, trick-or-treating, stuff like that. Now it's all about having the most expensive costume and fanciest/scariest decorations. I prefer to make my own costume

Christmas is just around the corner as well! I'm trying to figure out what to put on my list- probably just pet supplies and underwear, aha.

about this famous Oak Street house..lots of folks came by,..visited it..some went and some stayed...
but I can tell you...this house got something special..it's a great place to be..
sometimes we do not show feelings because we're scared to get hurt..
I do think that if we show motivation in life..something positive goes out towards others..
all of us bump sometimes because certain things happen where we got too little control over..
but after all we should not judge too much...we're all different..
there's nothing soo heartwarming then a little push in the back when we go through difficult times..
a smile,a good word..and the fact we can say to ourselves=YES..I can do it..
what lies behind us in the past,and what lies ahead in our future..
cannot be compared with the strenght and values we carry in our heart today..
life can be a battle..but by fighting every day..we get strong...and we win..

I'm home early from school to get my halloween stuff together! I think I'm going to go as "a big baby" Wear onesie pajamas and carry a big stuffed animal with me, maybe wear a bib, slippers, etc. My friend and her little sister are coming with me Should be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to it! it's All Saints day over here...traditionally folks put flowers on the graveyard..
I am against this tradition...why is it ??that folks put flowers around 1st November....
and never show up on a grave yard until next year 1st November??
