Hey I saw something cool today....it was graffiti that said.... 'The 'EARTH' without 'ART' is just 'EH''
This is the first i've heard of that OCF rumor. I'll check. Grab a plate and settle in. I remember in the early '70s getting hricks wrapped in paper stamped 'Viva la Armadillo'. Welcome home
I wasnt yelling I was quoting what you wrote because you said its all the new rage, and that's what I think too but about the peace symbol Cnd = eace: chemical nuclear disarment symbol, later used as a peace symbol
It's a peace symbol Kenny. Mama, a laundramat is a laundrette. Blimey, I go away for a few days and there's no one to translate English into American and back again!
Hey Mama Sweetie! Lovely to see you again! I have another festival "Off Grid" in just over a week, and it looks like we are moving house at the end of August, so I have a shit load of stuff to do in the next couple of weeks. After I move, I may be offline for a bit while we sort out modems etc, but I'll still be here in spirit! Green Gathering was great. There was a tipi circle and a wonderful crafts area. The kids area was brilliant and the kids had a parade on the Saturday, all playing various drums and bells and all the kids had raided the dressing up box and were really colourful and wild looking. We saw some great bands and went to a poetry event. The poems were really funny and everyone had a great time. We met a man who was making a film of the event and he gave me his card to his website, so in a couple of weeks there may be a film of the festival. One of the main things I noticed was just how friendly everyone was and how easy it was to talk to absolutely anyone. Oh yes, and I met a huge gorgeous wolfhound whose name turned out to be....Aerianne! Dogs were technically not allowed, but you know what hippies are like. I was working as a stewards co-ordinator, which means I had to deploy the stewards out onto their shifts and stand by the radio to deal with anything that happened e.g. lost kids, problems, questions, etc. I will say this again to any UK hippies who feel they are isolated....if you can volunteer to work at the smaller, friendlier festivals, you will get in for free, meet and work with like-minded people and have a great time. If you show yourself to be cheerful, reliable and co-operative, you will get onto the crew list, which means you can have a whole summer of festivals and meet loads of people in real life. Many of our stewards brought their children with them, although if the kids were young, they also brought someone to help care for them while they were at work. And hello and welcome to the new people! I'm just having some rice cakes with hummus. Help yourself if you want some.
the internet has really made the world even smaller than it was and it was pretty small being you could fly around the world in less than 80 hours.
I love this place. Bickering happens in the best of families and something good has come from this bickering. It shows what amazing people you are. sh, old tiger and others...your healing words follow me around all day. Wish it were still the '60s and I could walk out of the house, make my way to the highway, stick my thumb out and come see y'all. That's what I miss most.
hi windy. if your new here welcome.an you are in the 60s here,an you can still hitch from the bottom of our road.
Morning, sounds good to me. I'm just back from the market and have brought some melon. Melon and coffee? What the hell!
I'm taking mine out to the garden to read for a while! I love the morning when I've finished work for the day, the suns not quite round the corner of the building, so no squinting while I'm reading and everyone else is either in bed or at work. Peace perfect peace!
Morning folks- As most of you know, I go for my morning walk to the beach around now- - But I thought I take a ride and pick up some fresh pastries at one of the best bakeries down here- Get this- -True joint up the road a--ways >> Grateful Bread 180 Drum Point Rd Brick, NJ 08723 Excellent place to stop for a coffee & I think Ill bring back a bunch of fresh Cannolis for us- Especially my Sicilian friend Mpeace- Ok 1/2 Sicilian If you dont know -Cannoli,s consist of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta. They range in size from "cannulicchi", no bigger than a finger, to the fist-sized proportions typically found in Piana degli Albanesi, south of Palermo, Sicily. Palermo is where my family came from yrs ago- America mostly uses a heavier sweet creamy filling- but I prefer the ricotta, both are excellent Seeya in an hour jack
