I'm very relaxed :) having a chilled Sunday to myself, got my candles and incense burning, my beer and a cig and got music on in the background! To me this is bliss, after running around after a newly walking toddler all day and spending half my time cleaning and the other half making mess with the baby, this to me is just pure bliss!

I only met her once shortly before her death. It was a command appearence when I was about 6/7, but she had quite a rep among those old Arkie red necks. I've traced the family back to somewhere near Tipi Valley in 1055. The family's original coat of arm is described in Burke's Peerage as a great blue heron standing under an apple tree next to a pond. Sometime I'll tell you about my Cherokee greatgrandma.

I'm sorry, I always read everyone's posts, and I am thinking of responding to each person's comments pretty much all at the same time. Then I'll be writing something to one person. After I'm finished writing it all, I then go back and Type the name at the top because I worry that that person may not spot it.

By that time I am also thinking of the next person who I would like to write something to next.

I guess that I was thinking about something that you had written and I had you're name in mind. Whoops. I probably stopped for food and never wrote back to you.

Yes, your correct and I was referring to the softball thing.

Yes I was writing to aerianne.

Ranger, I'd love to hear about her. I love genealogy. I've just gotten into it in the past year or two but have made some absolutely staggering discoveries about my own family.

I'm focusing on your comment and on this exact part or your query.
"what can we simple human beings???do about this??just nothing??
do we all have to accept it???"

    old tiger,

Here is my view of these things. About what each of us should be prepared to do.

First, It's not very likely that things will changes. (Reasons don't matter right here.) The climate will proceed as it has.

Second, Looking at it all in a broad minded sense, humans (humanoids) have been around for what? 100,000 to a million years. Our entire species is and has always been a migrating, omnivore, clan or tribal species. This is what we are as a species. The thing to understand is that by having that be our base answer, we have been here for 100,000 years at least. This works. Tried and true. We're still on this Earth. So, keep what you know works.

My view is that we (or at least some small part of each of us) should realize and understand this basic premise. That even in some small way, we should adhere to what we actually are. Our human basics.

    1) Migration
    2) Eat anything and everything.
    3) tribal / pack beings. Working jointly is our biggest strenghts.

Our down fall? People are sedentary and people are easily confused. Also some people love to be loners.
We are not use to being Gypsy and uping our roots and moving from place to place.

A people example. They have a WAR. People live in a city. They shell and bomb the city slowly out of existence. People where born there and know nothing else. People don't leave the city and they all die.

Here's a perfect example of human nature.

Archaeologists, have found whole large settlements in the middle of the Sahara Desert where obviously the people refused to relocate even long after the water was all gone and the climate had already changed. Lots and Lots of skeletons all in the same place. As they would say in New York City, "Go Figure."

I have even talked to some good friends that I know today. They would never even dream of pulling up their roots. If the water went away they would rather stay, even if it meant die. And they've put it that way to me. All that I can say is that it's a free country. Do as you will.

I personally believe that if or when the climate changes, The first thing that will save your life is to be a part of "the new human migration." Or better yet, "be ahead of the curve" and be ready to be the first to move. I am very serious here. Be willing and able to be mobile. Gypsy.

Think in terms of normal human north or south seasonal migrations that have always happened. (Perfect Example: Souix following the buffalo.) warn Winter south, cool Summer north. Only the rich do this today. This could likely involve thousands of miles in journeying to a new homeland.

Uphill and downhill. I live in a desert, however it is more verdant that most of the world's deserts and is does have natural river sources from the mountains and dams and irrigation. It's always great in the Winter. Horrible in the Summer. The world travels here in the Winter.

It is at 1,250 feet above sea level (381 m) were I am. If I need to change my location because of climate change, then I may actually need to "get all Gypsy on it" and really need to relocate. How far would I need to go??? 155 miles (249.44832 km) to be in the highest near by mountain plateau where I would find myself at an elevation of 12633 feet (3851 m), and I would still be looking up a mountains.

And don't forget about the other two human traits. Anything is Food. and Group Hug.

These ideas will mean that you may need to think outside of Belgique. Try to think in the term of vacationing or Holiday in maybe: the Alps; Greece; Spain; Norway; or other locations. But you take all of your important stuff with you, and the holiday never ends. You just never go back. Unless you can go back as a seasonal migration.

    LOL

    Be Free.
Have yard sale! For your travel money. You can't take it all with you and you really wouldn't want to anyway.

You don't know how many times I've asked myself and my higher self/deity/Goddess/God "Okay so where's my tribe?" Never have found an answer...

Your looking at it / (us).

Unless you decide to make it a new priority and start putting together a better tribe than this one.

But an internet tribe is not the same thing as a real physical tribe... Say if you needed someone to be there tomorrow in person, I wouldn't be able to be there. Same goes the other way around...

I'm not devaluing what we all have here, but all it would take is a massive blackout and all of a sudden, no tribe.

This is truth. That's why it's said that we must go out and meet our neighbors.

We are merely a cyber family. however this is not to say that we can't knit a tribe from this begining. Seven years ago I was looking at the Diggers web page and found where two sisters from my old commune had exchanged messages. I hadn't seen either in thirty years or so. One of them is Shameless_heifer a Super Mod here and the other an past lover of mine who's been my partner and traveling companion these past seven years. S-H and I have worked at pulling the old tribe'Church of the Good Earth' togeather on the web. Then much to my amazement when the VA told me they wouldn't do my heart surgery with me living in our van Kenny without a word to me got on here and raised hundreds from folks I hadn't seen in thirty plus years and a couple I've yet to meet.

My point is we stay with this and get comfy with each other eventualy we can exchange #s etc..................enough.....I babble.....

"Kenny without a word to me got on here and raised hundreds from folks I hadn't seen in thirty plus years and a couple I've yet to meet."

Actually it was shameless_heifer who started that one up. Fund rising to get a roof over Ranger's head so that the Veteran's Admin Hospital would do the surgery. 12 or 14 people sent in money and in a month and a half he was in a trailer park.

The thing is that that job got taken care of. People cared and came together.

Though many of us knew each other from years before, we had lost track and we did reconnect on the internet. Like, I just now got off of the phone with Ranger's son. We are tribe and family. I hadn't seen him in like almost 20 years. I flew him out to see his dad, pre-surgery, and got to party again with him for a day and night. Anything can and does happen, if you let it.

Regarding a electrical black out? You can always plug your laptop into a car cigarette lighter adapter that is made for you computer. Buy an inverter for your car, and just plug in the wall outlet plug.

Buy satellite Internet connect! Phone is NOT the Electric Company. Phone T1 modem.

You own a soldering iron. Open up your computer and jump D.C. wires, bypassing the transformer and the A.C., and solder to a female in put jack and use rechargeable batteries. Recharge the batteries in the daytime with solar photovoltaic cells.

You already know how to do all of this. I'm not saying anything new here.

My point is that you and we can do anything that we want to in life. And Yes I can and don't tempt me will show up on your doorstep. I've done it plenty of times to other friends, and sometimes with no prior announcements or phone calls.

My girlfriend and I met on Match.com back in '97 moved together S.F to N.Y.C. 10 months later, and we are together today.

    Never say never.

And if you want an over night right there In front of you tribe, That one is real simple.
    We can just start a:

All hippies looking for a new tribe and new commune to move to, here is Tyrsonswood's home address. Go there. Thread.

    LOL

    Tell me what you think?
Any and all of us could meet in our future.

"You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered . . .

    Where are you living?
    What are you doing?
    What are your relationships?
    Are you in right relation?
    Where is your water?
    Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
    Create your community.
    Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader."

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, "This could be a good time!"

"There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

"Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

"The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for."

I was so happy to learn that Spectacles and Tyrsonswood are siblings. I have been concerned about that old hermit having no one else in the world :p

Kenny, you can all show up on my doorstep and come in to help me clean out this house! :D

I would do that easily, but it's coller in Phoenix. LOL. And we've got terrific central air conditioning here, too.

    On top of cleaning houses.
    I do dishes.
    I do windows.
    I cook.

I can see that you cook. You've posted fabulous meals here! :chef:

You mentioned meeting your lady on line. That's funny. Hubs and I met on a telephone hookup thingy back in 1996. It was "Telepersonals". I think it turned into "Lavalife".

That's funny. How cool. Now how can we get a house full of gals for our buddy Tyrsonswood, who needs a physical tribe? There must be some kind of an online short cut. LOL.

    Shall we fix him up?
