As I remember the ripe ones had a wonderful strong aroma and were called 'muskmelons' now the ones in the stores they're bigger, scentless, last longer (for ease of shipping), have little scent or flavor and are no longer muskmelons.
I'm her only grandma now. She never knew her biological father and my daughter-in-laws mother passed away 2 years ago. My son got a bacterial infection in his intestines from taking antibiotics for an abscessed tooth. He slept all afternoon but I don't know how he is doing since he got up and ate some soup when his wife got home from the ball park. I'm hoping I don't get a call to take him to the hospital.
that makes it even more wonderful that she has you aery.an a good dad now to ,in your son.i wonder if the bateria fro the abscessed tooth added to the intestinal infectin.possibly.it's a god sign he drank the soup aery.mind yourself now to aery.cos your no good ta yorself or the rest a them,if ya get run down yourself.
You could get him to eat some yogurt. That seems to help rebalance the flora/fauna culture in my gut even after all the antibiotics that came along with my 4way bypass......
This post brings me back to when I was 5. I saw a girl across the street that I never saw before. I said do you want to be friends. She said yes, and we were good friends until she moved out of state.

hey housefolks, yesterday was a reasonnable hot day here... not a heatwave though in Belgium it has to be over 30 degrees Celsius for 5 days in a row..then the weatherman tells us it's a heatwave.. some parts of Europe like Italy,Greece,Spain,Portugal are suffering from extreme heat.. some old people died already because of breating problems.. @spectacles...are storms frequent in Ohio state?? yesterday Ranger and tyrson went bit technical in a few postings,i do not know much about solar and geothermal energy..but when I was in Iceland on a trip to Ney York in 1983..I learned that the complete city of Reykjavik is heated up by a geothermal system, they got geysirs and hotwater springs over there...it's quite a thing to see the geysir called *Strokkur*in action.. http://sustainablecities.dk/en/city-projects/cases/reykjavik-the-ground-heats-the-city @aeri..I believe softbal is not played here, but we have a sport called krachtball or something... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38BqclcE1tI"]Krachtbal explained tutorial broadband - YouTube playing in extreme heat is not a good thing.. one must see that one keeps drinking fluids abundantly... shameless will provide watermelons for quenching the thirsty(ahah) by the way..I'm always listening to the music tubes from tyrson and aeri and others as well... I'm bit of a music freak..I should have gone to a gig from Goa Gill..but did not go... next weekend we got an open air flowerpower gig in a forest...where a friend DJ will play his vibes.. we saw dancing do a wheelie in the garden yesterday, that means her ankle is on the mend, she'll soon walk again,no doubt about that...:2thumbsup:stillcrazy went to a pub gig..I love these pubs in the U.K where one can see these gigs, and have a side dish..in the U.K one gets these eateries called carvery which are quite popular and cheap... but it's mainly always the same food...supermarkets like Tesco,Morrisons ans Sainsbury's get their resaurants as well... one cannot starve in the U.K...brings me to the subject of the homeless... recently there was a police rapport.. coming from Brussels that the police behaved on racist bases towards homeless folks.. they got beaten, humiliated by the police..I think this is horrible.. @roamy,kenny...oh well...thanks for the dinner.... in American slang they say *let's grease* there are some bloody good cooks in the house... gosh...I'm ranting away...:mickey: my cat ella is miauwing like hell over here,it's her food time... great to see this house is becoming lively, @ethera..by the way...you live in South Spain ,I see... how's the weather there for the moment??? good to hear you occupied a room in the attic... see you all in the garden tonight... got some cava and some strong Belgian beers..

Jack: I am the same way. Up a little too early and having some ice coffee but thinking about trying to get another hour of sleep here. Will be going out to breakfast with Dad at 8am. Old Tiger: We get our fair share of storms here all year long. They generally come from the west going east, although from time to time we get remnants of hurricanes coming from the south. The one that came up on Friday was initially blown off by the weathermen. "They" were saying we might or might not get some rain. Then out of the blue it came through the state like a freight train. "They" were even talking about tornadoes but I don't know if any touched down or not. It was very hot and humid and the temps were around 98 when it started (3pm) and dropped to 72 after the storm around 6pm (where I am). Heavy rain and hail. The winds were very high and so some people had roofs come off and a lot of trees came down totally or in part. That brought the power lines down and so many lost power. My power did not go off until Saturday morning around 7:30. Probably due to them trying to reroute power to other areas. I spoke with Dad yesterday to make sure he was OK and had power. He lost a couple roof tiles that will need to be replaced. Dad tends to watch Fox News 24/7 and never watches anything local, so he did not even think the storm was all that bad until he went out Saturday and found the roof tiles in the yard. Dad did not lose power though so was able to stay cool in the AC.
etherea, I was just now looking. I still don't see anything in the web news. Can I ask you, what the name of the town is where the games were? Have some coffee. Have some donuts, all. And, etherea, thanks for listing Ranger in the Attic room.
Hi pensfan13, Welcome home. That is so cool that you thought about a good friend from when you were 5-years-old. I Love that. I often remember my friends from when I was 5 and 6. Me to me too. How very fun.
If all of you who are sweltering in the heat could send just a little bit of it over here, that would be so cool. I've had to put a sweater on and am thinking about lighting the fire. And I'm normally a cold-blooded person, meaning I always have the windows open and the heat turned down when everyone else is freezing. This weather is ridiculous, in my room I have both an electric fan and a pile of firewood, and seem to be using them on alternate days.
