i make sure for every drink i consume (1 drink = 1 shot or 1 beer or 1 glass of wine, etc.) that i drink 8 ounces gatorade or water (or something similar to gatorade because it replaces electrolytes. water is OK if you can't find any gatorade around). it makes me pee like crazy, but it's worth it in the morning. also, make sure to eat something high-carb before you start drinking and before going to sleep after you've drank, like a peanut butter sandwich, some crackers, some plain pasta, with meats like chicken, turkey, or steak (no greasy burgers), and also nuts really, really help absorb alcohol so snack on some peanuts or cashews while you're drinking (little handfuls here and there really help to stave off a hangover in the morning)...i love hitting up steak and shake or denny's at 3 in the morning and eating the greasy food while i'm drunk, and it's better than no food, but i always regret it later cause i have a sensitive stomach. and remember, always, always drink gatorade or water.
Get up, have some coffee, eat a big fuck off plate of greasy chips with lots of salt and sauce, also a big greasy burger. Then have a shower. Proceed back to bed and sleep for the rest of the day. This is a garunteed, fool proof cure!
the only thing that has ever worked for me is drinking a big glass of water before gong to bed (kinda hard when your wasted) or when you wake up smoke a nice bowl of nuggies.... I think pot is the best natural cure available, works almost instantly to....
I'm allergic to alcohol... when I drink, I usually break out into an asshole. But seriously, if you take 3 or 4 capsules of Milk Thistle (available at any health food store & inexpensive too) before you go out drinking it staves off the hangover. It takes more booze to get you ripped, and you have a better chance to "Just Say No" to 1 more drink. While you're drinking alcoholic beverages, try drinking a glass of water for every drink you have. This keeps your fluid balance more in the norm than trying to make up for it after the fact. Then, when you wake in the AM with that familiar crappy feeling... take 3 or 4 more Milk Thistle capsules. Milk Thistle soothes the liver and helps to remove the toxins that ethanol leaves there. These things really do work... I speak from the voice of experience... lots and lots of experience....
I never take Tylenol if I have been drinking, in case there is anymore alcohol still in my blood stream. Alcohol mixed with Tylenol is extremely toxic to the liver. I like to wake up, take a B 50 complex vitamin, eat something bland (like a plain bagel, room temp) and take 600mg of Ibuprofen. I do like to drink a cup of coffee, and plenty of water/gatorade. Caffeine helps analgesics work quicker. Too much, however, will start to dehydrate you again, and may make you nauseous. I will only have 1 to 2 cups.
A lot of good advice here...but caffeine (coffee) will not help you with a hangover. It will dehydrate you (it also doesn't "sober you up" if you're drunk. it juat gives you a wide awake drunk. It's still not safe to drive). Half of the hangover is dehydration; the rest is toxic blood from your body metabolizing the alcohol. So, if you can, drink a glass of water before you go to sleep that night, more in the morning(gatorade is good too), even if you feel alright. Other than that, the main cure is time. Sleeping is good too.
Yeah, I heard that if you had coffee while hung over, the cafien just further dehydrated you and made it worse...
