Liquid silk is great for lubing up to slip into your favorite vagina, but is way to thin for whacking off. For you guys able blow one of in less than 3-5 minutes, it would probably be fine and while Astroglide is thicker but stickier, two drops have never stopped working before I finish. Stay away from commercial skin lotions, a lot of doctors will tell you the same, for masturbation it's probably worse than anything else and will damage the skin. In the past few days though I've been using a "commercial skin lotion" on my penis, not for masturbation but because this southern boy is in the upper mid-west this winter and my skin is dry.
So after the shower I rub a little "cocoa-butter" lotion on my shaft and balls to prevent chafing.

Probably depends on how much precum you produce. I usually end up with a lot. Between that and foreskin, lube is kind of redundant to me (not to mention messy).
