Hell, I wouldn't really mind Obama as president. It would be one hell of a fresh change, even if he doesn't solve anything.

Might at least reinstate a positive image of America outside the US.

 

That may be the way you think, but you'd be surprised how easy it is to pull the average American voter by such a beautifully simple word.

 

it's all window dressing so far as i'm concerned, and if the world can be fooled into thinking we're any different because we vote in a black guy, they're incredibly dim witted and naive.

I don't think that it's the black guy thing that's gonna get people. Racism exists in other places, yet is it not near as overplayed as it is here. No one outside America really sees it as a social renovation or some great feat.

I think that the fact that Obama is a good talker, intelligent, charismatic, young and innovative that's gonna get them.

I don't think that a President could mess up this country any more without actively trying to do so.

Plus you must admit that the word change even attracts your sorry ass (who's just gonna sit around the wine about all candidates without saying a single constructive thing). I'm a big supporter of moving away from the norm, and well... such a step in politics isn't really that big of a step, since the norm is woven to not be changed, but it is still a step.

You have to face the reality: Either Obama or McCain will win. There is a difference between the two, no matter what Pressed_Rat will say. Who'd you rather have, cowboy?
