Oh and is there a code that says if you a drunk girl at bar or club its your job to make sure she gets home safe? I was going home with this girl from a club and some other girls saw how drunk she was and took it upon themselves to take care of her and take her home and I ended up going home alone that night.

Absolutely. Although I would tend to just stick with worrying about my girls unless I thought another girl would be in danger. It's not my job to be a cock block for a stranger unless I thought she needed help out of a situation.

I think this is true. Girls can be very cliquey. I was always terrible at this and had separate groups of friends who knew nothing about each other. I found that when I did share my friend groups there were fights over who was my best friend.

There are different types of girl groups...but I think the "cheertatorship" types are the worst. This type of girl clique happens not only with cheerleaders but with other groups as well...I've also seen this kind of thing happen with boys and men...especially in restrictive environments. Small towns or subcultures typically have adult women "cliquetatorships".

I think a lot of people grow out of full allegiance to a clique as they grow older but some people shuffle from one clique to another throughout their lives. I think some cliques can be healthy though...we can call them communities or groups.

At this age I would like a group of girlfriends who get the code. Particularly, facial expressions, bathroom entourages, chicks before dicks and most importantly the ones who are too smart to follow around a "cliquetator" like a a lost puppy. Unfortunately all the awesome women I know live nowhere near me.

 

I have an amazing group of friends and you would fit in great if you didn't live so far away. Except I am the "cliquetator" haha. I'm definitely the boss of the group. Not because I want or try to be. Just because they put that on me. They won't make any decision about anything until "Mama says so". (they call me mama, it's still weird for me to see *Mama* on here and know its not me) Apparently I'm the most organized so they let me handle getting everything together and "managing" the group so to speak. When I try to step back from that role and let them figure things out NOTHING gets done. We have awesome girl code though. We love and support each other like sisters. I'm very fortunate that I have such a big awesome group of friends at my age.

 

Well...if it's about making decisions about how to get together and things of that nature, I think it's cool. I'm talking more about the type who uses the other girls as her minions. She manipulates them to do her bidding, decides after she takes her pick who they can all date, tries to get between their families, has dominion over their career, how they dress, where they live and who else they can hang out with, etc.

There are adult women who are still dependent on someone's opinion and approval like that, I've seen it, but I think most people grow out of it in their early 20's.

Oh yeah. I'm totally that person. They need my permission before they can wipe their own ass. haha. Just kidding. My case is more about making plans and stuff like that. Our get togethers are almost always at my house. I think that's why they wait for me to make the decisions.
