wnad why do you keep defending him. you never even met the guy. yea, their music was pretty kick ass, but that doesnt mean hes gonna be a great guy.the guy who wrote the hey song, i htink he was garry glitter or something, he was a child molester. you dont excuse that cause everyone on the planet knows his song.

and having a shitty childhood doesnt excuse him from being a jerk. if someone raped some lady, then they diddnt put him in jail because "he had a crappy childhood" that would just be fucked up. and all the stuff about his girlfriend, well that doesnt matter. everyone has some normal shit goin down in their life. the only part of all that i feel sorry for him about is the childhood. everyone at one ttime gets dumped or cheated on by someone they thought loved them

the doors are my favorite band, but i dont get all pissy when someone says Jim Morrison was a jerk off, cause he was. he was a drunk ass hole. but i still love the band and i like his lyrics and poetry

I think expressing your opinion is essential, though, failing to word your opinion in a constructive, fair manner may not get you anywhere but conflicts. This is especially so on the internet forums where sensing the other's feelings solely via the text format can be a great challenge. I believe there is a difference between "free speech" and "let's just talk shit about people because just 'cause we can".

That's true, but I kind of like that there is/was a bit of an argument going on. In my opinion, discussions are supposed to have a little bit of quarreling in it. It's nice to see the passion from the two sides. I do agree, however, that this and the Nirvana/Doors/Beatles thread has turned into a bit of a 'shouting' match between the two sides.I also don't think that anyone was purposely trying to be mean or insulting or attack anyone, but it just comes when you're voicing your opinion, or in some cases, they were responding in the same manner that the previous poster had.

 

I can't help if I love him. It's not a creepy obsession, I just love him like I would love someone really close to me. I've grown to love him. How would you feel if someone was shitting all over someone you loved? Not so nice is it?

im not gonna waste my time looking for quotes that could be very false. but he did used to always fuck up shows by getting pissed off at crazed fans and attacking them. seen an interview with him from 94 and he is talking about why he cant ever finish a show
