I have a Gibson Les Paul '60 RI, MIM Strat, Bonnie Raitt signature, Martin D-35, and a Guild JF30-12. I use a Fender Cyber-Twin and a Fender Twin-Reverb in unison. I have a JVC PA that I use for the acoustic-electrics. I had a Peavey Classic 30, but it was stolen. I like to roll my tone knobs (or at least keep one of them) down to zero. I used to use a Vox wah and a Tubescreamer, but now all I use is a Bradshaw A/B switcher for the amps and no effects. I use a 50 foot cable so I can record and not have any strumming from the guitar. I got a 360 directional conference mic from radio shack that's amazing for recording. Sunrise pickup with the 12 string, my own piezo I made for the 12 string. My overdrive and distortion come simply from how hard I pick, the db boost on the JVC, and the signal breaking up. Of course, all my gear working in unison and the db on, I max out near 300 watts (tube). My dream set up is a nice '59 Les Paul Reissue in Washed Cherry Sunburst (my '60 reissue is in cherry sunburst and has a few custom mods, my two strats are blue and sage), a Duane Allman signature Les Paul, '51 Nocaster reissue, and a '63 strat with a custom Diaz head (a modified version of the Marshall Plexi Super Lead), a Dumble Steel Stringer, and a Soldano with Marshall 4x12s and a fender super six (same as the Super Reverb except 6x10). Three heads, two half stacks, and a fender combo . I use Levy's straps, Ernie Ball Power Slinkies (.011s) and GHS rockers (.013s), Guild phosphor bronze (.010s) for my 12 string, and Martin SP 80/20s with the extended life for my D-35. All of my money goes towards music, I'm constantly changing set ups and gear, and I suppose you could say I'm a gearhead, guitar geek, and generally anal when it comes to it. (Forgot to mention, I've built two or three Telecasters. I'm working on one now. I also recently traded a guy at the shop for a different '60 reissue... he wanted the birdseye top and I wanted the flame, he had it on ebay, but he liked mine so much. Haha, I like this one better). Check gallerrrry for pics.
oscar schmidt built washburns, an lb40 bass and a guitar of indeterminate line, they are both lyons the guitar is a strat copy, I'd be playing it now if I hadn't to the point of bloody fingers yesterday....... I love the combo of it and my amp......
they have really nice range, adjustable to the hilt, I can do everything from blues to metal...... good sound for the price, the construction is nice, it's a pretty guitar.... I could go on and on..... and I've played an old school strat.... a real non clone one, hanging out with cool old people has very cool benefits
