yeah ive read guides that do say go for 12/12, can hurt and might just help alot ;p Its to trigger pinning though, its not like there is photosynthesis
Mushrooms need very little light. You could use a string of xmas lights, or a fluorescent bulb I preferred. To fruit the temp must be dropped 10 degree’s with 100 % humidity. So fluorescents are nice because of the low heat. Peace id Look at my sexy jars.... Ban Nathon baby,,,,
from all culturing jars uve posted, it seems uve got some room for experementing... try not cold shocking any strain... see wut happens
i know it advises a cold shock in most guides. but seriously psilocybe strain are tropical (right?) genuses, naturally a cold shock wouldnt benefit (though doesnt hurt) if u really doubt me that much then i bet ud be surprised to see colonizing and fruiting at the same temp is just fine. or take it up the pros at the shroomery (hopefully itll be back up soon)
nobody spoke of cold shock. He said to drop the temp 10 degrees. And thats the temp to start fruiting. Didnt say put it in the fridge. But cold shock cant hurt i guess also not all psilos are tropical. Look at liberty caps. The word is species, not strain, if you arent talking about cubensis. But you say I should keep incubating even in fruiting? Wont it take longer??? My casing layer will just colonize and fruit in the same time? Thats what you always do? My instinct would tell me to follow this http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3290155/an/0/page/0 A pinning strategy...maybe not really caring for the shrooms can make em grow but for nice ass pinsets man Im sure this works.
actually when u drop the temp to cuz fruiting, that is cold shocking. ur thinking of dunking; they're commonly confused. and im not to let the myc fruit in the incubator, im just saying the incubator and the fruiting chamber can stay the same temp
Anyways, nature gives it a cold shocking everyday, its called night. Maybe I should try that. On another note, I used my whole mazatapec syringe on 2 popcorn jars (yeah i know), and after 4 days they are starting. Nice stuff, rhizo mycelium and I think they will do good. I will transfer each colonized jar into 20 jars worth of pasteurized popcorn, and make monotubs with that, using 50/50 casing layer. Have treasure coast, burma and ecuador left, one more innoculation tonight. but do you grow em or just read guides?
no i dont grow them honestly so ya not speaking from experience just from others advice, sorry if i came off sounding like an experienced grower
yeah its good. You will see maybe when you grow them you will try anything to help your shroomies even if some guides say its useless ;p
I just got done growing (threw it all out after a bad trip) but I know alot about growing. your going to want to make a liquid culture with your spores, using 5% honey and 95% water in a 1/2 pint jar, mixed and sterilized. 1 hole in the top. use some tape that breathes over the top after u inject 1cc of spores into it. wait for about a week or 2. you will now have enough mycelium to inoculate not just 12 jars but probably 12x12=144 jars or something like that. the more liquid/honey the more mycelium you get. no need to buy more spores unless u want different strains. buy the book "The Mushroom Cultivator" by Paul Stamens (i think could be wrong). read everything you can on casing, sterilization, pastuerization, bulk growing etc. if your poor go to shroomery.org and read through the forums, Agar, Anno, alot of them are good growers and know what theyre doing look through their posts youll learn alot.
also, there is no need to cold shock a tropical species of mushrooms (cubensis). but refrigerating will reduce contamination risk considerably.
if he done growing... he must be crazy fuck ! )) i will never stop eating then, i will introduce my children , my grand children, my wife, everyone, to become a better person it will help, i've seen the world on them.. oh amazing thing.
