A few ideas; for one the survival rate may have been diminished for much of that period. But the greatest factor is the alcohol content which remained relatively low for much of human history. Another is the age of distilled spirits which began around 1405. I also suspect that the availability of distilled spirits over the ages likely had peaks that led to this syndrome.

The 20th century is where alcohol distribution became so routine that alcohol poisoning deaths also have a track record. And I don't mean from tainted prohibition era concoctions, just people who drank themselves to death because awareness was slim.

As for this example, I'd prefer to see more such composite charts for comparison before I'm willing to accept one that looks so much like Carrie junior.

Suggesting FAS to argue with the political opinions of others is a rather pathetic approach to make yourself heard over them and the original suggestiveness is not just criminal, it an attempt to take everyone for a very sad ride.
