Dharma,Spacer... So nice to follow your adventures online.. You know..I have great respect for people going on the road like this..i've done it myself.. but times were different then..we live in the now.. Dharma,in your gallery i see your travelling mood.. keep it like that...and by the way..you make me jealous..and not only me..so wherever you will walk on this planet..remember..a traveller sees.. the world...and he will remember always what he saw.. Emiel
Im really curious, what happened later? Did you sleep by the side of the road that night? Someone gave you a ride? I know if I didnt have a tent and a sleeping bag, I wouldve tried to make it there on foot, I think you couldve made it if you walked all night. God I wish I was as adventerous as you are.
Hallo iv been around but for now im in Netherlands and its ok very relaxing...lol my town when the tourists have gone ;-)
I'm in Thailand at the moment, been pretty much drunk since I got here. Flew from Calcutta which was a fantastic city. Bangkok feels more like Tokyo. It's so modern. It makes Dublin seem like it's something from the dark ages. Still having fun though. A little to much though but what can you do!
Hey Spacer, Tell me about Calcutta.. I know that place very WELL.. stayed there for a long while.. and Bangkok??take a tuk tuk... people don't know what they are missing.. Dublin..you said..great place..was there in 1970.. Emiel..
Calcutta was great, really cool city. I had a great time there and they have the best second hand english book shops I've ever seen. It still has a hint of colonial granduer about it, despite the hoardes of homeless people everywhere. Bangkok on the other hand looks more like Toyko and seems to be an up and coming city. Got Tuk-Tuks alright! As for Dublin, it's an expensive shit hole, but then again familiarity breads contempt.
Same to you Claire, unfortunately I'm back in cold Ireland now. Will be here until October when I head off on my travels again. Just back to make some money and do a TEFL course.
Spacer.. Yeah..these crazy tuktuks in Bangkok http://www.thailandtuktuk.net/thailand-tuktuk-photo.htm
I once saw a B movie... well.. more of an G movie.. Called "The Intruder". The main character was called 'Rambu' (he even had the red head band) and the plot was a typical revenge quest, sex and violence etc. But all done exceptionally badly - to the point that watching it is an hilarious experience. (ie. reversing the film to show him catching something he's thrown.) Anyway, to get to the point, there's a finale of tremendous proportion featuring those cute little machines arriving from all sides - fifty of them - driven by machine gun weilding maniacs flying over dirt ramps to flip through the air and explode in a variety of ways. (and 'Rambu' just kinda karates his way through it all). It really has to be seen to be believed.
