i hate that sideways "i'm gonna eat your face if you don't back away" look they do. it's fucking creepy.
the pit? you just aren't comfortable with dogs or something, lol. that's his way of saying, "ok look, I sat for you, aren't you gonna give me something now?" if I walked over and stuck my face in his, which I do all the time, the only thing I'd get is some dog kisses
not me, man. i do have a lot of experience with pits and mixed breed pits. once they give me that look and their bodies tense up, all the body language is there for BACK THE FUCK OFF. i'm not a total idiot.
no, they looked fine there. pretty, chilled out, happy, healthy. it just reminded me of that sideways look we'd get from our dogs.
body tensing up is not good at all, and what I do is take a few steps back then kneel down to their level. and hold out your hand all low. the dog is just reacting that because he's nervous. but the look my dog is giving in that pic is a happy and content look. they just naturally look scary. if a dog is about to attack you, his head will drop. the tilt is positive body language
I can imagine. there was this boxer that chased me on my bmx bike when I was little, almost daily. he would be at my heels all the way down the street. that dog terrorized me. but now I realize that if he had really wanted to get me, it would've been like a lion taking down a gazelle.
i learned the "be incredibly still" trick. it worked quite a few times. i just got real quiet and didn't so much as twitch. i mean, i get that dogs bite, it's just the sheer determination, tenacity, strength and enthusiasm once they get started that some dogs have that makes them an issue.
today he was running across the yard with a water bowl in his mouth, and proceeded to run full speed into the grill, LoL. what a clown.
if I seen that? well, cowboy, I have to admit I ain't seen that in my day. but I heard about people seen that over yonder *spits tobaccy*
