heifer, I talked with a fella a couple/few weeks ago about possibly vending out there, but I haven't heard anything since. When will you know better about the prices, etc? I heard Quick Silver Gold, the remaining members of Quick Silver and Joli, Son of Dino Valenti are booked for that weekend in San Francisco at the 40th Anniversary of The Summer of Love hosted by Hope and Beyond. Concert currently schedualed for July 21st and 22nd, 2007 Polo Fields.

To clear up any doubt on when the Monterey Festival of Love is. I went to their wedsite www.sfsummeroflove.com and looked up the date for myself, The date of the Festival of love is July 27th-28th and 29th according to their wedsite

The date for Goodstock2007 is 07/19-21/07. I see no conflict there

Hummm.. after further investigation, I find the the summer of love festival took place in january2007 I ran a google on it, so I will have to retract my previous statement that the 40th aniversary of the summer of love is in july and it and the monteray SOL are two different concerts.... what a strange day it has been... WTF.. I am starting to confuse myself..lol

I'd also like to mention I did a google on Hope and Beyond and could not find any conection between them and the Summer Of Love concert, so I don't know where positivlyzella is coming from, but if there is something I have missed let me know

Hey, I know money is the root of all evil and all, but everybody needs a little running capitol sometimes. The promoters of Goodstock 2007 want to extend a special invite to Rainbows interested in vending, running kitchens, or other volunteer work at this upcoming concert. The dates won't conflict TOO MUCH with the Rainbow Gathering. This is all about maintaining the right peace/love/brotherhood vibe to help make this a memorably different concert. And a chance to earn some bucks for vendors and kitchens.

Welcome southernhippie, nice energy you have there. Thank you for the encouragement, it's been a long roller-coaster ride thus far,. Goodstock is materializing rapidly as time grows short. The energy flow has been tremendous and has given strength to overcome all obstacles that have popped up now and then.. but it's all good and we are on our way.. There is still time to volunteer.. we need many people from every state/country to help get the word out. To be a sucess we need the people behind Goodstock.. so far we have kept it out of corporate hands and hope to continue to do so.

Perhaps you could find some one in your area that is traveling to Goodstock or post it at the local collage paper or something, I'm pretty sure Austin has a Craig's list

After 21 months of dedicated work and supream efforts made by just a hand full of people.. I have created this thread on Goodstock2007 to give it it's own thread, to bring you good news about Goodstock2007. Not as and add, but an explination of what Goodstock is about and how it started. I didn't want to clog up the festivals forum with the information, history and roots of Goodstock2007.

Most of you know I have been working on Goodstock with Larry McClurg as a volunteer for going on two yrs. But little do you know that Goodstock is not just another concert, but an extention of The Movement itself.

Goodstock started out with just Larry wanting to reunite his band Mind Garage. The seed was planted. Then Larry was inspired to take it further and decided to invite everyone to reunite and have a grand festival for all garage bands, and as we all know every band started out in someones garage

When Larry contacted me here at HF and asked if I would like to help with Goodstock my creative juices started flowing. I had experience in organizing benefits for health organizations which include concerts and past experience in a varity of musicly related jobs. Plus I was at Woodstock69 and I had the time so I got involved..

The first thing was to find a location and that was like pushing a wheelbarrow up Mt Everest in an ice storm, we needed a place that was hippie friendly, not that Goodstock is limited to hippies but with GS being a reunion of 60s/70s rock n roll well of course us hippies would be there as rock and roll is what brought us all together in the same mindset. The message was in the music and we rallied around it.

I contacted earthmother420 here at HF and asked her if she knew of any place that would accomodate Goodstock, she offered her place in West-by-god-Virginny as she has had many many gatherings over the yrs there and earthmother was also in the Band Prophets Thumb. Earthmother became involved and has brought great energy to GS.

As time went by we had more and more bands contact us/we them and GS grew. It out grew Earthmothers place and we had to relocate, we needed more room to house the vendors, campers, parking, people and.. well.. everything.

After much searching The Good Evening Ranch there by Summersville WV was contacted and accepted Goodstock. A dream come true, 1,000 acers of natural beauty to accent the Love and devotion that went into GS.

With GS on solid ground more people became involved and wanted to take part in the Happenin'. Robert and Carol Morgan from Medulla Arts came on board with their super fantastic Light Show, and their contribution of GoodstockorBust a ride share to Goodstock group in yahoo. (thank you Skip)

So now the seed has sprouted up and has grown into close to 40 bands ( that number changes as more come in) Just last night Southern Comfort Blues Band ( samson and psyche from HF) are on the list to play Goodstock,
Chriswah is also helping with stage management.light, ect. and other volunteers like Donvito and his mate, I can't mention everyone bc I dont have the list in front of me but you know who you are and you are extreamly apprecieated and needed to make Goodstock a sucess.

It has been through the efforts of the people themselves that have brought Goodstock into fruitation. It is ONLY with continual support that Goodstock will survive.

We all must put an effort forth and radiate a massive energy flow into making people aware of what Goodstock stands for and to gather togerther to show our support for what rock and roll meant to us and what we learned from the message of Peace Love and Unity it held.

Goodstock has come this far without any sponsorship. With only a handful of volunteers and Larry's personal cerdit card and phone card, out of pocket money. We all believe that Divine Inspiration is involved to have gotten Gooddstock2007 Launched and ready to go.

This has been a "for the people/by the people type happenin'. Altho we do have to charge a small ticket cost, as I said we have no sponsors and the bands have to be paid to cover their expences and the location, deposits, permits, contracts, all the little expences that pile up as we go have to be covered.

A three day ticket that includes a campsite and seeing all the bands and the music, well for $100.00 your getting your moneys worth plus some. It's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. That breaks down to about 33. bucks a day.

The bottom line is, if we dont sell enough tickets Goodstock wont survive. We need everyone to support Goodstock and buy tickets in the Spirit of what GS represents.

That's what I hear everybody talking about, getting involved in something good, something meaningful, something that may make a difference. This is your chance, now is the time to take action on your words and be part of rekindeling The Movement itself. To bring back that Unity and Harmony we held for so long in our hearts. To gather togeter again as Woodstock Nation and show the world we carry on and still hold the music as our messenger.

If no one cares, what does that say about what we have become, where is our walking the walk, sted of just talking the talk, where has our Spirit gone.

I have given two yrs of dedication to helping Larry as well as the other volunteers. We have asked nothing for our time or energy, we donated it lovingly and willingly. We Belive in Goodstock.

We need the people behind GS, "C'on people now, smile on your brother, everybody get togther and Love one another right now" If we the peope don't do it, it will never get done and our genorations contribution will just blow away in the dust, a fleeting memory of what was once a great nation.

If only to pass the word or make a contact or two would bring good energy and is always needed and apprecieated. To purchase a ticket would be most auspicious in support of the efforts being made from selfless folks like yourselves.

We are not oppossed to sponsorship from the right mindset, it would inhance Goodstocks manifesto and bring more great rock and rollers to GS.

hey goodstock is in west virginia this summer, i'm from canada, i live in whitehorse yukon and im travelling all the way there just to experience something as close as i can get to woodstock! im excited, anyone else going? i'v been to alaska and i went to disneyland (too young to remember) those are the only places in the states i've been too.

Starla has been pouring her heart and soul into Goodstock; this everyone must see. It's people like her that make things happen! Some folks wait for things to happen (ok.. hello...it's happening now) and some folks wonder what happened...doh. For freakin' sakes I hope after this is over, no one wonders that!!! laffs

Starla and a few others here have taken personal time and put their "stuff" on the line. Offering everyone a chance to really grok what the message was back when, where it has brought us and where it's going. If you think about it, Goodstock may be our generations "Last Hoorah", but it's a beginning for new generations. So they may begin and carry on the message in their music, their inspiration from within their hearts and minds.

Think of Goodstock as a "Lolapalooza" of past greatness bringing new greatness into the fold and keeping a freeform of musical spontaneity alive, like the avant-garde experimental music of the San Francisco Ballroom days.

Young bands like the "Woolly Bandits", who have embraced our roots music and who were borne from a new "Garage/Psych" music that was seen brewing in Europe; is now coming full circle again here; thanks to people like Sky Sunlight Saxon.

It goes on... it is meant to and will go down in the historical archives as a repeat of a renaissance of the most influential ERA of Spirit in the Human Condition, of Music and Art expression ever.

Not to put a damper on things, but i'm not sure if people will really pay 100 bucks and drive very far to see old garage bands uno. I dont even really think that many boomers would even go to a 3 day thing anymore. As much as it sux, there all middle aged and ur not gonna draw 500,000 of them like woodstock did when they were all teenagers. you'd be better off aiming more for a younger audience.

 

hey hey well... no worry; words are not going to put a damper or have any impact on this event.

Somethings and/or points get missed in the mix or become something else. Goodstock is not trying to be Woodstock; the last Woodstock was a fiasco and mostly the young folks came... Where I live, the Woodstock 2 ad said "This is not your Fathers Woodstock" and it was not... there were rapes, violence because "it was not your Fathers' idea of Peace" either.

There is nothing that sux here and/or worrying about ones aim... sux just builds pressure then blowz.

I am humbled by your own great energy towards Goodstock, it is ones like you my brother and sister, that show me that love is alive in some hearts and with loving energy like your we have suceeded already.. Goodstock is blessed to have you and Carol aboard

I cannot exprress enough, that Goodstock will be what we make it. People are coming together like I have not seen happen in almost forty yrs. Giving of themselves like it was when we lived by a code, a code to honor what we held in the 60s/70s, we came when we were needed, we had each others backs. We showed up.

I would not ask of you what I would not do myself. It is only with our youth that we can make changes in thw showing of it, in the doing and getting it done.

I know I'm not the only messenger amongest us, just an old one with the same ole message of LOVE PEACE and ROCK N ROLL!! We old timers of the daze when psyche/rock was born still feel the music we know the message within it, no one else can relay this to our kids but us. The truth of it.. not the media hype, but all the love in it and what it brings to each and everyone of us..

To show you something that perhaps you didn't know, goodstock has had oofers for sponsors/orgainized corporate meddlings, but Latty has aways been firm in his convictions, that, when some one speaks against something it has a negitive effect on what ever is being spoken against, I can relate to that, that is why there is nothing negitive happenin' @ Goodstock., it's pure Rock and Roll.

No talk of war or polotics or global warming, just a few peaceful days without the Earily Morning News in your face with gloom, doom and distruction. We alll already know. We are up to our Eye Teeth with it.(if we still have them).

I believe we need a Goodstock2007 in our lives. It really is a chance for the next generation to see, hear and feel first hand and the true way of it, the way it started and has continued in our hearts for all these yrs, even our babies feel it and their babies, they want and need to know from us what we were/are and what they can do to keep the torch lit.

What will happen to the world if we don't change it, we can only do that with the next ones coming up, we need to show them that there is another way, and with enough of us we can most assuredly make canges and leave something for the next ones to emjoy.

We, the ones that know so fricken much and debate the pros and cons of society are biggest procrastinators. I find in my own self this to be eveident., I can just speak what my heart knows to be the truth, what I feel inside and act on what I know comes from Spirit.

Goodstock sparked something in me that has been calling me for yrs, it has made my soul restless to do something about really getting through to people and reuninte with what brought The People Together in the first place. It's tribal.

There are so many signs pointing to it.. all the old schoolers have been saying it forever, it's in the music. It;s in Goodstock bc Goodstock is about the music.

I give you all I have, all that I am, in Truth and Love.

Just a little inspriration, Goodstock, if you look and are up on your music and your bands, is all about rock n roll, tho we be a little older, it does not mean we are too febal to Rock and Roll.

All the greats were once garage bands, least we not forget our roots!!. Goodstock has national bands too. As everyone knows, people pass on, bands come together, change names and are still rock and roll icons that need to be remembered and supported. They all started somewhere and where would rock and roll be without them.. With what you said, when we old rock nr ollers are gone will rock die with us.. Hell No!!.

Recently I bought a ticket to a 3 hour concert that cost 55 bucks for crappy seats, there were two bands. Nough said bout that. Most of the population of the us comparitivly speaking, lives within 8 hrs drive to Goodstock.
