what about mahavishu orchestra!!!! thats some heavy space music. i listened it just now after i smoked some. it´s really deep, it consists of very mentally heavy space melodies if you can get into them. now i´m justening slightly stoopid a pretty dubby song, nice. they also have some amazing acoustic rock songs and some freaky old style jazzy songs too. nice lil band out there....
here are the absolute top mind expanding books: nClone by Dovin Melhee Diaspora by Greg Egan The Singularity by Ray Kurzweil Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut what are yours?
Lol. 4 years later and my favorite is the same as the second suggestion. Dark Side of the Moon. You just can't beat it. It's amazing on ANY substance, I first tried it with weed and it literally changed me forever.
Halucinogen " twisted records " is a top favourite with me, dragonfly records, cosmosis, and goa trance in general ...
Anything by Simon Postford is great (Hallucinogen, Shpongle & Younger Brother). I like a fair bit of psytrance too... Astrix, Alien Project, Sesto Sento, Infected Mushroom, Skazi, 1200 mics, Eat Static & GMS are all good. I also love Venetian Snares when I need a bit of madness added to my trip.
Yup. Costumes are encouraged too, it's gonna be a trippy night! Apparently it finishes at 11:00pm though, which sucks. I was well up for a Shpongley all nighter.
theres an afterparty for sure. back on topic... what i'm listening to right now http://www.dustedmagazine.com/reviews/4649 Headhunter- Nomad (2008) very psychedelic sounds
That'll be great, hopefully I'm hoping I'll be able to pirate or buy the album fairly shortly after it's been released.
My favorites would have to be; The Moody Blues: Days of The Future Passed and On the Threshold of a Dream Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and Foxtrot, specifically Suppers Ready Phish: The Story of the Ghost Frank Zappa: Apostrophe Beatles: Sgt. Peppers The Who: Quadrophenia and I just came across this recently and listened to it the last few times I had shrooms; Dan Gibson: Solitudes, Secrets of the Jungle. It's all instrumental with nature sounds from the rain forest. I was very surprised at how great this sounds and it is definitely worth finding and listening to when tripping on your fav psychedelic. I highly recommend it. Excellent aural background for inner travel. Any really good classical is always nice.
I'll more than likely buy a copy at the show so if you PM me your email address nearer the time I'm sure that could be arranged.
