no one said the lorax or captian planet. if your really creative you could make your own movie, could be even better.
Of course An Inconvenient Truth is the most interesting film treatment of a PowerPoint presentation ever. I'm involved in a video about a story of reforestation nobody seems to be aware of - right i nthe US, over the last 60 years - told by a 93 year-old man who followed it as a reporter. Shameless promotion for this award-winning video at http://ohiolandscape.org/ora.html There's "The Future of Farming," but there's also a rather personal film about organic farmers called Farming fo rthe Future, but M. Krauss(?) that I found insightful.
You must check out The Californians. It is about housing developers, and a family of musicians and singers who tour, and speak and sing out about environmental issues. It is an very well done film, and a must see.
this is a good effort jelly. i reccomend "travelling birds", an excellent documentary from the migratory bird's point of view. they travel through spectacular landscapes and some spectacularly polluted ones. amazing photography. also, the bbc series "walking with beasts" or even "walking with cavemen" might be unexpected hits with your group. the beasts is good because it gives an idea of how much has gone on here before we appeared. cavemen gives insight into what sets us apart, yet how deeply connected to the earth we are at the same time. both vids feature heavy evolutionary science, so beware the insane board of education... don't know if they allow that in your cosmic wave. rock on
There are a number of distopian views of the future soylent green no blade of grass spring to mind little thing on gloabal warming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJTDSEPSfhk the end of suburbia is here if you want to watch it online you can make it full scene if you like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3uvzcY2Xug beyond treason about du worth watching if you know anyone thinking of joining the army https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sduJAwXJ2co https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqgwdZ1B8LQ&mode=related&search= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47DaKSuCGOE&mode=related&search= whole site of peak oil films http://www.globalpublicmedia.com/ I like this short movie especially the native people at the end http://anthropik.com/ykp
206 posted food ones. Go Furthur is a classic. Woody Harellson bikes the California coast powered on raw foods and chocolate with a raw food chef, yoga teacher and other friends in a hemp-biodiesel fuled bus. He gives lectures to universities about sustainable living. Future of Food is a massive call to action when it comes to supporting the organic food movement. Whn you see what Monsanto does to small farmers and you realize how massively wrong and corrupt they are... it really tugs at your heart strings...Did mine anyway. I found it very inspiring. I wasnt a fan of day after tommorow and wouldnt really recommend it...not enlightening or even inspiring. Its just kind of a dramatic movie that happens to use global warming as a part of its plot.
ENviornmentalist gruop at your school. my school sucks ive been thinking about ways to get my school to recycle. i know its been said but an inconvienient truth is good but far to long and also i dont appriciate the al gores life type clips. when they talk about him growing up on a farm and stuff.
