Hi, Orison, I am thinking of you and Boo, also......

Champy has been collapsing every day now, where he just falls down and lays on his side and stops breathing, due to his collapsing trachea. Each time, I have been there, to resucitate him.........hymlic sort of, with a massaging of the trachea, and gently talking to him, so I have brought him back, but it is getting scarier and scarier, as each time could be the last.....and what if I am not there?:...... I was in tears this evening......over it......
I fear I may be looking at what you are going through myself again soon......it is so painful to lose a family member.......

My heart and thoughts continue to be with you......

Thats so sad Moonglow. My heart goes out to you. Our pets mean so much to us. Its incredible the amount of loss it is. Some images I cant get out my mind. Ive regrets for not taking him to the vet sooner. Actually had some mean words to tell this adoption agency when they said I should of took him right away. I said bullshit. You wouldnt know what to do either, you act all high and mighty with your background checks, checking my vet history.. Blue was a healthy dog. I acted as quick as I could. Acting any sooner wouldnt change anything. His age was a factor. He would never come out of surgery. His insides would of fell apart had he been to the vet last month, or every day of the week.

Tell them they should teach all their dogs to speak English. [IMG]

I dont need some outside of Pa agency talking shit to me. my local shelters know Im a fine handler of the Husky breed ..

A Siberian husky Im working with now in the shelter may never come home with me, but that dont stop me from being there every week to work with her.. She is very scared of people and men, she cowers in her crate. This the 2nd time shes heard my voice telling her how much she is loved .. One the reasons she responds well to me is I changed her name. Her name is Juliet, but calling her Julie in a girlish tone brings her around quicker.
I am in the mists of adopting a Siberian from Ohio. He has the docile laid back look, and may need a little indoor attention. Little older but Im hoping that others wont want him and so far Im the only one that contacted the owner, hes a mild rehome fee, needs spayed.. If he works out well, he may be a play friend to Julie if shes not adopted .. If he works out even better with her, she may come home with us. :)

Some of those adoption or rescue agencies are too intrusive. They make you jump through all kinds of hoops just to see their dogs. I found my local Humane Society to be a better option for me although I found Grace a county over from mine at their Humane Society.

Be patient. The right dog will find you. [IMG]

The human society here is focused on pittbulls. 90% the shelter is filled with them. 90% surrounding counties filled with them. This is a rather disgusting abuse of the breed. While Im not fond of the pit breed. Im more angry at people allowing them to overburden the rescue agencies and putting more and more animals at risk of being euthanized including Pits. If people really cared about these dogs they wouldnt allow this to happen. The so called care they may have is phony. Once they get the dogs of their choices the abandon the other pitties.

Other shelter Im working with is Animal Friends. They are great. The dogs and cats have hotels and large grassy pens to run. Doggie park and more.. beautiful place in the woods, creek nearby, away from pollution and noise ..

There are some really pretty m/f husky dogs around but they are getting way up in the age. 5,7,9 is a little to old for me right now. We are to broken to and need a lively young dog. Im still working with a pet loss psychologist due to Booboos significance in my life. At this point we are discussing all pets die. However hard for me to expect I couldnt do anything. Having hard dreams of bring him back, dreams of him choking, dreams of his behavior days prior, could I have taken him to the vet sooner and saved his life for a few more years. Would that all be worth it, 1/2 stomach, suffer with arthritis later on, while he had no other physical problems that I could see, full of energy the day before. Yet pawing at the gate to escape over a week and we just thought he was after groundhog. Locking him in the kitchen when he wanted to die with me in my room. Ill never be able to live past that. Could I have put 2 thousand dollars into him, had I done this I wouldnt be able to afford to rescue another dog and have back up vet monies. Could Booboo be passing only because another younger Rosey is in dire need of indoor care.. idk .. my head still hurts.

    Yes, if you were psychic!

Orison, in my next life, can I be your bitch (female dog) ? I think that would be a damn good life. I could rock the Siberian husky look.

awe, youre so cute.. I would rub you behind your ears.. :sunny:

weird coincidences.. Blue would die 13days before the anny of Jerry Garcia. It was 13yrs after "Run for the Roses" album Jerry died.

From the time Jerry died to the time I got Blue was 9yrs 5m,11days,

9yr, 6m and 7days was the amount of time I owned him.. :guitarist:

I'm thinking of you and Boo Boo now, sad, yet happy you two had such a good time together... and you really helped him out at the end. Be proud of yourself for being so kind... and forget the bad stuff, remember the good times!

Thank you.. Part of the recovery process is either doing what I always do, or doing something different. What I always do is check on the dog, so Im still doing that, make sure he has fresh water. He loved to play with those stuffed animals. Probably had more toys than any dog I know. Rosey will get the same love cuddles and attention too.

my Blue Spruce tree come in the mail today with a very sweet personalized card . I planted it over Blue in hopes one day I can wrap my arms around him again.

My Sunny (Sundance) did not fetch either. My dog Raine loved to chase a frisbee. He was so good at jumping up and catching it. After he died and I got Sunny we went to the park and I threw the frisbee. Sunny watched it as is flew and landed and then he turned around and walked the other way. It just was not his thing.

Orison, Be gentle with yourself. There is no way you could have known what was going on with Blue. I love that you are planting a Blue Spruce in honor of him. [IMG] [IMG]

    Hello,

that are the best dogs: watching the frisbee flying away and then watching you getting the frisbee back ;).

    Regards
